| The Daedalus Class ships were one on the Federations first star ship designs. Its tour of duty began just after the formation of the United Federation of Planets in 2161. This class of vessels was one of the first to have both a primary and a secondary hull. The class included the USS Essex, which was destroyed in 2167, the USS Archon, and the USS Horizon. |
