| Sera's walls were at first a plain, new construction white. Very boring and we tried to cover the walls up with colorful floral stick-ups and borders. Finally this fall, we got bold. Basing the colors off of one of her favorite books, "Ten Little Ladybugs" (see the book below) we painted her room 3 colors. Sem used electrical tape to mark of the waves and we painted and painted...and painted. Yellow was the hardest, it took 3 coats! Then my cousin, Jason Anhorn, spent about 16 hours painting and airbrushing Sera's magical princess garden, again basing it from Sera's favorite book. I am still not finished with her room as I plan to make her a canopy of some sort and curtains. But as you can see, we are well on our way of making Sera's room the colorful playland we want her to have. I tell you, she was jumping on her bed that first night Jason painted the butterfly and she stopped suddenly, and pointed. Her facial expression was that of amazement as she said, "Wook, pretty!". It makes it all worth it. |
