| What Is A Patron Deity? A patron deity is a god or goddess that you identify with or wish to learn something from. You are trying to basicly become a friend of this god or goddess. This will require some work, but in the end, it will pay off. How Do I Choose A Patron Deity? First, you should find out as much as possible about many diffrent gods. (Gods if you are a male and goddesses if you are a female.) If you don't know where to start looking, think about the cultures that facinate you. Have you always liked things Oriental? Do you have Celtic heritage? Ask yourself questions and that usually will get you started on your journey. Once you know alot about the diffrent gods and goddesses, think about the ones that youidentify whith. Do you like nature? Do you love magick? Do you have an easy time with compassion? Are you always falling in love? If none of these questions work, try to think about what you would like to get out of working with this god or goddess. Do you wish to be able to love more? Do you want to be more attractive? Do you want to get a better understanding of nature? Would you like to learn a new craft, such as pottery? Always think ahead is my advice to you! Once you have chosen a patron, learn all about the god or goddess. Read the myths that they are involved in. Doing research will help start a bond between the two of you. So Now What?
