Page 2 -- NYC pictures

A hallmark store about two blocks from Groud Zero. Note the debris/ash covering the sidewalk... windows... everything. Also note that the only person around was a National Guardsman.

From a store window a block away from Ground Zero. Patriotic and angry words written in the dust/ash.

Everyone was handed a mask as the entered the area. There was an unusual smell of chemicals, smoke, and unknown other things.

Due to carpeting, insulation, and a variety of other combustible items located within the many layers of building debris, the piles at Ground Zero continued to smolder for weeks.
