A light in the Darkness
Chapter Three
Rose woke up to find Sephy still asleep next to her. One of his arms was still draped around her. She smiled at Sephy. He was lightly snoring. That made her laugh. She looked into his closed eyes and thought that he looked so positively perfect. She kissed him before getting up. Their bedroom was the largest bedroom in the castle. It had a master bathroom attached to it, and a large balcony. There was a pair of black wings positioned above their bed, and Masamune under them. Rose got out of bed and went to her closet, there she picked out her dress for today. A blue simple dress. She started for the bathroom when she heard Sephy wake up. "Morning." he mumbled to her. "Good morning Sephy." Rose replied cheerily. She went into the bathroom and closed the door. Sephiroth yawned and climbed out of bed. |

Tifa and Vincent had a breakfast of eggs and bacon. Tifa began washing the dishes after breakfast. "So, how are you feeling this morning?" Vincent asked. "Good. Very happy." Tifa smiled. "Good, I was worried that I hurt you last night." Vincent said. "No, you were fine." Tifa laughed and finished the dishes. She and Vincent grabbed their coats and headed out into town. Tifa went to work, Vincent went to get Tifa a christmas present. He came to the jewelry store. He walked in and looked over all the necklaces, he couldn't find one that Tifa would like, so he looked at the rings. There, sitting in a display case was a gold ring. It had a large ruby set in it. There were golden flowers carved into the ring's band and around the ruby. "Excuse me, how much is this ring?" Vincent asked."10,000 Gil." replied the clerk. Vincent tilted his head in thought. "I'll take it." he said. "In what size?" Asked the clerk "I think....a 3" Vincent said. The clerk removed the ring from the case. |

Sephiroth stood on the balcony. The wind was gently rustling his hair. He stood looking out over Nibelhiem with an expressionless look on his face. Then, the door opened and Rose stepped out onto the balcony. She smelled of fresh raspberries. "Hey" She said to him. "Hello" Sephiroth said. "What are you thinking about? You have that look on your face." Rose teased. "Well..I was just thinking about you actually." Sephiroth said. Rose looked at Sephy, "There is something that I need to tell you...but I'm not sure how you'll take it." Rose finished. "Tell me. I can handle it." Sephiroth said. "Ok, well.....I don't know of any easy way to say this so I'll tell you like it is. I'm pregnant." Rose said. Sephiroth turned his head very slowly to look at Rose, her face was completly calm. "I don't know what to say.....I never expected this." Sephiroth said in shock. "Well, the real question is, are you mad about this? Are you ready to be a father?" Rose challenged. "Yes I suppose. This is going to be a very interesting experience. But, I just realized something...this child won't be a normal kid. He'll have Jenova cells inside of him." Sephiroth said and groaned. "How are we supposed to raise a child like that? Handling my Jenova powers is hard enough." He finished. "We will have to try our hardest I guess. What ever happens though, promise me that you'll support our child?" Rose asked. "I promise, and I will love the child just as much as I love you." Sephiroth told Rose as they kissed. |

Tifa was tired. It was the end of another cold day. She finished up her work, and left. She wandered through the streets of Nibelhiem thinking random thoughts. She couldn't believe that she had already forgotten about Cloud. Well, not forgotten. She decided that she would go visit him. She walked towards the cemetary, and reached Cloud's grave. "Oh, Cloud. You left this world way too soon. I still miss you. I hope that you miss me too." Tifa said to the gravestone. "Talking to Cloud again are we?" Vincent said from behind Tifa. She spun around and hugged him. "Vincent why do you always sneek up on me?" She giggled. "I like to surprise you." Vincent said. |

Rose sat on a bench in the garden. She looked out over all the rose bushes, and looked at the sky. It was a very light red. Meaning that it was the end of the day. She stood up, and walked inside the castle. As she entered, she saw a demon waiting for her. "Master Sephiroth has left the castle. He told me to tell you that he will be back before midnight." It said to her. "Thank you." Rose said to the demon and she went into the study. |

Sephiroth hated to leave Rose with out telling her himself, but he had to talk to Mark. His friend was very good with handling situations. Mark lived right by the Ancient Forest keeping watch over the treasure that lay there. Sephiroth reached Mark's house and knocked on the door. The door swung open and Sephiroth came face-to-face with Mark. "Hey Sephiroth, how have you been lately?" Mark asked as Sephiroth entered his house. "Well actually I came here to ask for some advice." Sephiroth told Mark as he sat down on a chair. "Advice? On what?" Mark questioned. "Well, I just found out that Rose is pregnant." Sephiroth said. "You want my advice on that?" Mark asked. "Well, yes. I need your opinon and help on this. I'm new to the father thing." Sephiroth said. "I don't even have a wife Sephiroth, how am I supposed to help you out on this one? Sorry but I think you're on your own. Why don't you just talk to Rose?" Mark suggested. "Mark, you are lucky that you don't have any complications in your life." Sephiroth said. "Also, I needed your advice on Jenova powers. My kid is going to have Jenova inside him." Sephiroth said. "This could be interesting. I know that you have to transform evey now and then just because you have to, the same for me, So, I bet it'll be the same for the kid. The problem is, teaching him how to handle those powers." Mark finished. |

That night, Tifa took a walk through her town alone. The stars were beautiful. The moon was high up in the sky and the night was clear. She thought it was perfect. It was cold though, she pulled her coat close. She neared the path to Mnt. Nibel and remembered the beginning. When she was a simple girl, and she showed the great Sephiroth the mako reactor and plant. That was around the time that Sephiroth went insane, and when Cloud saved her life. She would never forget those days. Suddenly, she saw these strange lights coming from Mnt. Nibel, so she began to follow the lights... |
