Ta Ein
*Part 6*
It was 4:00 am when SungHoon woke up by a soft knock
followed by little sniffles. In the beginning he just lied in his bed,
thinking that it was a mouse who was hunting around his pea-size apartment,
looking for some leftovers. After a few minutes of the same noise, he
finally got out his bed and turned all the lights in his apartment. He
looked around the floor and as he reached near the front door and heard the
soft knock and sniffles again, he realized that he had an actual visitor.
"Who...who's there?" asked SungHoon, half-frightened.
"It's me...Krissy." SungHoon sighed and quickly opened the door
to find Krissy with puffy eyes and a blushed-up face.
"Noona, what happened?" asked SungHoon, who was worried about
her. Krissy entered SungHoon's apartment and sat down on his leather
couch in the living room. SungHoon sat next to her, wondering what had
gone on.
"JiWonie oppa...oppa-ga....he...um.."
"What did Wonie hyung do noona? C'mon tell me..." Krissy
caught her breath and just sat. SungHoon's heart was burning to know what
had happened between Krissy and JiWon.
"Are you okay noona?" asked SungHoon. Krissy shook her
head no.
"JiWonie oppa broke up with me today." Krissy tried to hide her
tears, but could no longer hold them in when her heart was torn into two.
"Noona...it's okay. These things...they just happen when something
doesn't work out in a relationship."
"But everything was going fine!!" whined Krissy as if she were
a two-year old who didn't get what she wanted.
"Noona, you may have thought that everything was fine between you and
Wonie hyung, but i seriously think that hyung was going through something and
things weren't working out for him as well."
"Well, he could have told me that, I would have waited." cried
Krissy. SungHoon grabbed the Kleenex® box that was on his coffee table
and handed a tissue to Krissy.
"SungHoon-ah..what am I going to do? I can't live without JiWonie
oppa. He was the one i was suppose to get married, have kids and raise a
wonderful family." SungHoon smiled. He felt sorrie for Krissy
and he knew the exact reason why JiWon had dumped Krissy. He had a
burning urge to tell Krissy, but some how the words couldn't come out of his
mouth. Krissy laid her head on SungHoon's shoulder and SungHoon hugged
her for the rest of the night.

Quinn entered her office with her briefcase in her right hand and a cup of
coffee in her left.
"Joeun ah-chim (Good Morning), Miss Kim." said Quinn with a
bright smile on her face.
"Nae sajang-nim. Here are your messages for the day."
said the secretary, handing Quinn a pad of notes.
"Geez, this day is starting out to be busy one already!" Quinn sighed
and went into her office room. She flipped through the notes and suddenly
stopped at the note that JiWon's name on it.
The note read: Mr. EunJiWon would like for you to meet him for dinner at
the nang-myun jip (restaurant that serves Korean cold noodles) at the corner of
his office at 6:30 pm.
Quinn was stunned. She thought that JiWon had stopped his little game of
wanting her back. At least she wanted to think that he did. Her
mind was firm....she wasn't going to give in and fall in love all over again
with JiWon when she already had an agreement between her family and JaeJin's
family.
'What's wrong with you JiWon? Why can't you lead a happy life with Krissy
like she wants? Can't you just quit playing games with my heart?'
thought Quinn. She didn't know what she was going to say if she was going
to join him for dinner.
"What is it this time JiWon?" she asked herself.

Quinn entered the restaurant and saw that JiWon had already arrived. He
had a stern look on his face and looked depressed. Quinn slowly walked up
to his table and sat down.
"Oh, glad you could make it Quinn." said JiWon softly.
"JiWon....what is it this time? I can't just screw my engagements
with Jonathan and come back to you JiWon..it just doesn't work that
way!!" said Quinn angrily.
"Quinn...i'm sorrie....i broke up with Krissy yesterday and I wanted you
to..."
"Why? Why did you do it? Did you think you could get back with
me and just start all over?! Look you had your chance to marry me and you
walked out of my life forever, leaving me to wonder what i did wrong."
"Quinn...you don't understand...it's not like i WANTED to break up with
you." said JiWon.
"PUH-LEASE...don't tell me...GOD forced you to break up with me, is that
it?" Quinn was surprised by her bitchy tone towards JiWon, but couldn't
help showing her anger.
"Quinn!!~ I'm sorrie...my mother had breast cancer and i couldn't
just go off marrying you. We didn't find out until a month before we were
supposed to get married and i just go off and marry you." cried
JiWon.
"That's ridculous. That's just a LAME EXCUSE!!~" said
Quinn. She stopped to think back on what she had just said. 'Wait a
sec...his mom had cancer and I didn't know about this?'
"I'm sorrie that such a thing happened...." murmured Quinn.
"But I don't understand...why couldn't you have just told me about this at
the time. Did you think that i wouldn't care about your
mother?" asked Quinn, who was deeply hurt.
"I just didn't want you to go through hard times just for my mom.
The doctors didn't know how long she was going to live...and i didn't want you
to look after her...."
"No JiWon...that wouldn't have hurt me. I would have helped
you...helped you get through with your life and share the pain. That's
what love is. You obviously don't know what love is..and you don't know
how much I loved you." said Quinn, choking back her tears.
"She died the day before we were going to get married...." said
JiWon, looking down at the table.
"JiWon...why did you end us that way? You don't know how shocked I
was. Do you know what I was thinking? I thought you didn't love me
anymore and you wanted it to end it all with me. JiWon...."
Quinn wept and couldn't continue on with what she was saying.
"I'm sorrie..I'm sorrie Quinn..." sobbed JiWon.
'it's too late.' thought Quinn. Both were crying and Quinn left the
restaurant, leaving JiWon behind to think about his worst mistake...while all
of this was happening....Krissy had seen it all....
