Chapter 10

After what Greg said, Buffy back away with her mouth wide open as her eyes were about to fill with tears. She couldn't believe what he said, she felt like she was stabbed in the back by one of her best friends. Greg came back to his senses after discovered what he just said to the person who had save his life twice on the very same night. Never he had saw Buffy crying before. But once she cried, it meant she was hurt badly. Even the word "badly" could not describe how it was. Both in shock, Greg stepped in front and tried to get closer to Buffy and show how sorry he was, but she always backed away.

"Buffy I'm sorry! I I I don't know" Greg said as he was the said as he was trying to find the words.

"I can't believe you just said that" She cut him off as tears came rolling down her cheeks.

"Buff"

"You don't know this, but it will be impossible for me to fight all these fucking evil creatures forever!", Buffy cried out, "Cause you know why Greg?". He stood in front of her without saying anything in return and knowing he had made a big mistake by saying what he had said to her.

"What I'm leaving through is NOT curse! But, if you had made research about Slayers. Most of them were kill before they're 21. That's mean that I could be dead any day soon. Maybe tomorrow or the day after that or maybe even tonight!"

She was trying to taking a deep breath, but more and more tears came falling down her cheeks like waterfall. Her face began to burn of heat and anger. She was almost in rage to the point she would explose. Never was she was this mad towards on of her friends, especially Greg. Her cheeks began to swallowed. She was confused and out of place. Greg was about to put one of his hand on Buffy's shoulder, but she blocked it out and they looked deeply into each others eyes.

"Buffy, I'm sorry. I didn't know what I was thinking". He was trying to apologized, but it seemed very hard for him to do, since he could sent her hearth shattered and he was the cause of it.

"No Greg, I'm sorry that I never knew you felt that way. And the damage is already been done." She answered before putting her hands in face and took a deep breath. "Listen you know what? I don't want to heard it now and I don't want to start another fight with you. I'm getting out of here and please do not wish to be follow." Buffy continued calmly.

After that awkward and terrible moment, Buffy took off in the darkness night leaving Greg alone. As her figure disappear into the darkness of the park and even from afar, he could still heard her cries of pain and suffering. Never in his life, he felt so bad for hurting someone he cared for and it was definitely the first time he saw Buffy that upset. Upset himself, he threw a punch in the mid air, but then he felt that he had knock something over. He looked down and saw someone wearing a black leather jacket.

"Oh fuck! Sorry Ryan! I didn't saw you and I though I was alone" Greg rapidly said after realizing who he hit.

"Well apparently you were not alone. Actually you were for a few seconds before I came and when I got here, you you knocked me over!", Ryan checked his jaw if it was okay. "Damn I'm going to feel that punch in the morning or the next night and where did you learn to hit like that?"

He could feel his friend was trouble by something. With his pierced hazel eyes, he was trying to read was in his friend's mind. But somehow, he managed to pushed it away or hid it.

"You're alright, Greg?". Ryan finally said as he put a hand on his shoulder.

"Oh yeah! I'll be fine. Come on let's go see the others"

"They took Christina to the Magic Store to make sure she's alright. They told me to get you and Buffy. Talking about Buffy, where is she?", Ryan said as he looked behind him.

"Oh! Hum, she said that she have to took off somewhere and all," Greg lied.

"Damn she ALWAYS have to take off somewhere. Wonder what's wrong with her?"

Greg didn't answer. All he did was look into the deep of the park, where she left. Her shadow was long gone deep in the dark, but her presence was still fresh. He knew that Buffy was a strong and independent young woman, but he had discovered that there was a delicate and fragile flower laying beneath her thick skin and all he had in mind and what he was thinking about was the face of Buffy and how quickly her tears were falling.

*****

After leaving Greg standing alone, Buffy was running into the night, not knowing where she was going and where she would end up stopping. All she knew was that she had to kept on running, till her feet couldn't take it. Breathless, she stopped to a unknown place for her, but she knew that it was far enough from the Sunset Park and stood under a tree. Leaned her head on the tree bark, she slowly cried. She turned her back on the tree and slid down. She folded her knees towards her face and rested her head, between them. A couple of minutes later, Buffy heard a heavy footstep behind her.

"Come on Slayer!", spoke a familiar voice, "Let's get this fucking fight over with it!". Buffy slowly moved her head a little enough to see who it was on the corner of her teary eyes.

"Go ahead and kill me Steve. Like I give a shit! There's no point for me to live and beside I'm going to die sooner or later and so why not now?"

"Well, that's no fun to let you sit there and let me attack you.", Steve suddenely said with a shock into his voice. "Therers no fighting! Where's the Buffy who LOVES to kick my ass?" He looked at her with frowned everbrow.

Buffy slowly looked up to face Steve. Her face harden, her eyes filled with sadness. Drops of tears escaped her eyes and made its way down her cheeks. He was taking by surprise, when he saw her in teary eyes. There was no words escaping his mouth. No movement to act. He only felt something that he had never felt before: Pain.
