Chapter 11

Steve slowly walked towards her, no concern on what he was doing, and though she would move away or even got up and punched him. But come to his surprise, the more closer he got, she didn't move a muscle like she was waiting for him to kill her with no harm none. In his eyes, all of sudden, she looked so fragile, so vulnerable, so delicate. He shook his head and looked back at her.

"Buffy! You're no fun anymore! What's wrong with you?", Steve cried out. "Are you going to sit there on your buff buns and let me kill you just like that?" Buffy looked at him weirdly and didn't answered back.

"Are you okay?", he asked again but in a calm and serious matter.

"Oh like you care"

"Well sorry to ask then! I mean afterall, we do have history together... If you know what I mean.", Steve said as he sat next to her.

After that awkward moment, there was a long and very peaceful silent between them, which was VERY weird. While Steve was getting more and more curious about Buffy's behavior, she cried secretly without getting his attention.

"Hey I know it going sound weird, but there something in your mind that kind of bothers you, right?"

"You really want to know don't you?", she asked.

"I didn't want to know, would I even bother to ask?", she looked up to him and meet his gaze. "And beside, if I didn't want to know, I could have kill you right now."

Buffy sniffed and raise her eyebrow. "You got a point there..."

For that moment, Buffy felt an awkward and strange feeling rushing through her body that she never felt before towards Steve, which made her feel a little uncomfortable, but it a very good way. She was fighting with herself if she should opened her mouth and said what was in her heart or just staked him. But at that moment, she wasn't really want to fight him.

"It's just that", she started before crying again.

"That what?", Steve asked calmly before Buffy cried out.

"I HATE MY LIFE! IT'S NOTHING BUT BULLSHIT! I mean, I just want to live a normal life without any evil creatures lurking every second of the day or night! I just want to be in peace and live my life, like I want it to be. I just want to worry about normal things. Boys, school and fuck even ZITS! My mom's at the hospital right now fighting for her life. My dad's going through a nervous breakdown cause of my mom's condition. Andy is growing up without having his big sister around to help him with his problem or even bonding with him like other sisters/brothers relationship! And what's killing me is the fact that my parents still doesn't know that I'm a fucking Slayer and that I might die, before them! I'M TIRED STEVE! I'M FUCKING TIRED! I JUST WANT THIS TO BE ALL A NIGHTMARE AND WAKE UP THE NEXT DAY! I JUST WANT TO LIVE NORMAL!"

After the confession, Buffy broke down in tears and started to wept even more louder and uncontrollable, which seemed like eternity. But at the same time, Buffy thought she just made a very big mistake by telling her number one enemy about her pain and anger inside her. But the unthinkable happen, Steve put his right hand on her left shoulder and made her turn around. She looked deeply into his eyes. Something she haven't done before. For once, Buffy saw compassion in Steve's eyes, she felt comfortable around him for the first time in seven years. In those deep brown eyes, were fill with something she didn't quite know.

Steve brushed her cheeks and wipe away the tears from her eyes. He kissed her on the forehead, before she lowered her head down on Steve's chest and slowly cried. He surrounded his arms around her and rocked her from side to side. He rested his chin on the top of her head and slow caressed his finger through her soft and dark hair, while giving her the biggest hug ever as he whispered sweet and comfort words for her. As Buffy closed her eyes, she forgot every little bad things about Steve. She put her arms around him and just listen to his breathe until the rest of the night.

~ The Next Day ~

Since the early morning, Greg was looking for Buffy around the school, to make her forgive him for last night. He had ring the doorbell of her house, but no one had answer. At school, he ran to her classrooms and asked the teachers if they had seen her. He even asked the students who knew her and people she knew, but they all answered the same thing they didn't see her.

The others started to get worry also, when they saw how Greg didn't succeed on finding her. When Karlie discovered that Buffy haven't show up in their physical education class, she knew right from the start that something was wrong. Especially the teacher was planning something that they liked fighting.

"Did you find her Giles?", Lee asked him over the phone.

"No and I called over her house, but no one answered." He said over the phone.

"Hum, maybe her mom still at the hospital with her dad looking after her. Andy probably staying at his friend's house a little longer that expected. Did you call on her cell phone?"

"We did, but no one had answer also.", she said while everyone was looking at her.

"Listen Lee, you and the others don't worry about her. Buffy's a big girl and can take care of herself and I'm sure she's alright."

"Maybe you're right Giles, but if she show up at the shop, call us okay?"

"Yes I will. Take care of you kids alright? See you after school."

"Giles couldn't reach to her also.", Lee said after hanging up. "He also said that we shouldn't need to worry about her."

"Wonder if she's alright." Clay spoke. "I mean, it's unlikely for Buffy to ran off like like last night."

"Well not really Clay. I mean, she had been patrolling these days, remembered?", Lissy added. "Buffy's a strong and responsible girl. She learns quickly and very responsible for her young age".

"Yeah she's right I *think* we shouldn't get too worry about her.", Karlie added.
