�Scrap Booking� has become quite popular in recent years. There are lots of ways to arrange and decorate a scrapbook of photos and other memorabilia to record memories of the good times in your life. Activities Coordinator Georgia Whitehead would like to get a group together to do some scrapbooks with the photographs of Center activities over the years. She knows someone who will teach or lead a group. If you would be interested in a scrap booking class to learn how to do it, or if you would help with the Center project, call Georgia here at the Center at 762-9259 and let her know. |

Travel Volunteer Jean Robertson has had several requests for the �Biltmore Candlelight Tour and Pigeon Forge Winterfest� trip , November 14-16, so we have added this trip to our 2006 tour schedule. Features of this trip include time in Pigeon Forge for shopping, dinner, Christmas Show, and Winterfest, then on to Asheville, N. C., for the Christmas Village, dinner at Deer Park Restaurant, Biltmore Candlelight Tour, and tour of the Biltmore grounds and gift shop. If you�ve never been to the Biltmore, this would be a good time to go. The Christmas decorations are outstanding. The cost of this trip is: $339 per person based on double occupancy; $319 for triple, $309 for quad, or $409 for single room. If you are interested in learning the art of quilt-making or other sewing and needlework projects, you are invited to join the �Sew Bees�, led by Polly Prentice, each Tuesday at 1:00.
Polly and the other ladies in this group are very talented and enjoy sharing their ideas. I understand Polly won first place in the quilt block contest held recently by Wal Mart. She also conducted a class for a number of girls in the 4-H Club in which they made �Origami� flowers using fabric instead of paper, which is normally used in this craft. The �Sew Bees� have made several really nice items for our auction sale, and some things for themselves as well. |

We have signed up a number of new first-time members in recent weeks, and some of these members have inquired about card games, specifically a game called �Hand and Foot� (along the lines of Canasta), and Rook. In order to set day(s) and time(s) for a group to play these games (or any other game of interest), we�d like to hear from those who would like to participate and we�ll try to schedule these at times that are most convenient. The Center is open from 6:30 a.m. till 3:30 p.m., so any time a group wants to get together for games or other activities, the space is available. Call Georgia and let her know your preferences. |

We have made arrangements for some special entertainment (a comedy act) for our annual Endowment Donors Appreciation event this year to recognize those who make donations during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2005, and ending June 30, 2006. We�ll have more details about the event later. Be sure and get your donation to us by June 30 in order to attend. |
