Greetings from the Director and Staff:
MUSIC - FOOD - AUCTION Draw a big red circle around April 28 on your calendar and write in Dont Forget!! Thats the day we will have a musical show, concessions, and an auction to benefit the Center.  It will be at the City Administration auditorium, and we want to have a big crowd.   We dont have all of the entertainers lined up yet, but well try to have something for everyone.  I hope to get my grand-niece Tessia, who has really developed into fine young singer.  She won first place in the Horizons Talent Contest last July in Pulaski, winning her the opportunity to participate in a huge talent competition in Nashville in August.  Out of about 3,000 she placed in the top 100.  She is scheduled to do some work with Randy Owens, of the group Alabama.   We are accumulating items for the auction.  Polly Prentice made a quilt; Julie Flanagan, Barbara Wade and Peggy Bottoms, who are doing sewing projects, are also making things.  I hand-pieced a quilt top which I hope to get quilted by that time.   Linda Purcell has made some art and craft items, and we will be working on other items for the sale.  We have scheduled each Friday in March, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and/or 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. as work shops  to make or secure items for the sale.  We need all the help we can get.  We will also accept appropriate items that anyone wants to donate - new or nearly new things or quality older items.  (Reserve the yard sale stuff for a later date.)

The Senior Center is a membership organization, and needs the support of all members.  The staff and I are working diligently to increase and improve our programs and activities, and we need the support of every member.  I hope everyone who is physically able will come to these two fund-raising events.  If you simply cannot attend the activities for some reason, consider making a donation in the amount of the admission.

MEMBERSHIP DUES   We will start accepting membership dues for July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2007, to spread out this work load.  The dues are $10 for a year and entitle you to receive the monthly newsletter and to participate in any of the activities sponsored by the Center.  Consider making a donation to the Endowment Fund when you pay your dues.  A dues coupon is printed on the address side of this newsletter for your convenience if you choose to mail your dues.
