Star Trek Episode Countdown
Synopsis: A group of religous aliens comes aboard Enterprise to witness a stellar event that they see as spirtal. One of the passengers turns out to be the Sulibon Silik with a mission from the future.
Over All:
A fairly desent episode, the first half with the religous aliens is
typical of boring Enterprise episodes, but it gets more interesting when they get into the temporal cold war plot.
Pros:
- Enerprise so far is doing the best job of any star trek series in
being consistant with past episodes. This episode in particular with the temporal cold war, and with mentions of the events that happend in "Unexpected".
- The plot with Daniels being a time traveler from the 29th century and Silik was very fasinating. It brought this temporal cold war, mentioned in the first Enterprise episode
"Broken Bow", to a new level
Cons:
- The scene where Maywhether sits in the captain's chair on a dare
from Hoshi, is one of the most rediculous scenes in Star Trek history, and gave me a very bad impression of Enterprise in general.
- When Commander Tucker explains how the warp engines work to the visiting aliens, he explains it like they're a group of children, until one of the  aliens speaks up and states that he is a warp field throeist, and I get the impression from the rest of the aliens that they knew more about warp engines than Tucker. It makes for an amusing scene , but it also shows how stupid the enterprise crew is, and Tucker in paticular.
- This episode is a typical X-Files episode. It starts out with a plot that turns out to be inconsequtal to the big picture, and lots of stuff happends and alot is revealed, but in the long run nothing really happends and nothing is really revealed just like the X-Files. I half expected Silik to take a big drag of a cigerette. I hope they eventurely get some where with this temporal cold war thing, and not lead us on forever like the X-Files.
- The ending is kind of dumb too, when they seal off Daniel's qaurter and put that silly flashing disk on it, because they're afraid of what might be in there. Well if they're so worried, why don't they just go in and see for themselves.
