| Welcome to the 2009 and 2010 school year! My name is Debbie Sawa-Szostak and I am the 2009-2010 President of your Seminole High School Parent Teacher Student Association. Seminole High's PTAS is a welcoming group of individuals who advocate on behalf of children everywhere. One of the goals of this years Seminole High's PTSA is to present some informative and educational programs for both our students and or parents. No matter how old we are, we should never stop learning. We will make every effort to keep our membership informed of upcoming events, so please let us know how we can best contact you. We are very proud of our PTSA membership at Seminole. Seminole High is ranked #1 in Pinellas County in membership on a High School level!! We would love to maintain that ranking and encourage you to join our organization. The membership fee is only $5.00 and our membeship is open to EVERYONE, including students. Students can list their membership in the PTSA organization under activities. A portion of your fees stays at the school ($3.00 goes to State and National PTA for advocacy and learning support) and your PTSA uses those funds for teacher support and programs. We are also proud of two awards that we received at the annual Pinellas County PTA banquet at the end of last school year. Every year Pinellas County PTA honors PTAs/PTSAs throughout the county for their commitment and dedication to children. Seminole High received an award for their "Golden Participation" by attending trainings and events relevant to advocacy and children. The other award that Seminole High won was the" Website Award - Secondary School". Our webmaster, Rasool Malekzadeh, has put together an awesome website that is full of information and won a well deserved award. Together with our commitment to provide quality programs and your commitment to join the worlds largest advocacy group, we will make a difference in the lives of our children everywhere, including those children right here at Seminole High School.
