Sexy Sarah
Simple as that...

03.02.02

A new article about Sarah's family talking about the first episode of Survivor:

Jane Walters, Sarah Jones' mother, who also hosted a party to share her daughter's debut, seemed to take a more pragmatic view of how Sarah was portrayed.

"I think it's a TV show and a lot of it is for show," she said. "I'm just tickled that she did this and we are just so proud of her. No matter how it ends up, it took a lot of guts to do what she did."

Walters said her daughter had been extremely sick the first couple of days of the trip, which might explain the way she was portrayed on the edited show.

Jones' 12-year-old sister, Samantha Green, said it was fun to see her sister on TV and figured she may have to fend off some autograph-seekers at middle school today.

Green also had some advice she said she would have liked to pass on to her sister: "I would tell her to put some clothes on."

Sarah is number 1 on CBS's rathe the survivors poll, she got 82% popularity rating. Though that might change dramatically after episode 1... :(

On Survivor's episode two preview: Rob and Sarah grow closer, and their tribe mates are beginning to feel the heat.

Manly Thoughts posted a commentary on Sarah:

The point of all this is that I'm not expecting Sarah to last very long on the island. CBS knows this and is taking advantage of the available Sarah airtime while the bikini, err... Sarah, is around.

I could be mistaken. It's a known fact that I am horrible at making Survivor predictions. I HOPE that Sarah sticks around. She's prime ogle material. And isn't that what Survivor is all about to a certain extent? Ogle fodder.

And I think that with this group, we're going to see more intensity, more arguments, more laughter, more skin... more of just about everything.

Good stuff is coming and Sarah's bikini is leading the way!

I found an article about Sarah:

Jones' family said they were excited when she was chosen, but the reality of her adventure set in after the first few days she was gone, her father said. "As a parent, from birth-day to death-day you always know where your kids are," he said.

"All you have to do is hear your kid's voice and you have like this sixth sense of how they are." "And knowing that what she was going through was stressful emotionally and physically, we were really bothered by it and concerned for her. We couldn't just call her to allay our concerns for her. It was really tough."

But now that she's back in California and only a phone call away, her family said they can't wait to see her every week, if only on the small screen. Walters said she thinks Juneau also will enjoy cheering Jones on. "Juneau is always really good at rallying behind one of its own," Walters said. "I think they'll be really excited for her and it will be a good community thing."

Plus, theres this article about Sarah saying how she went home from the show starving and that she know who the winner is but she was sworn to secrecy by CBS. It also said that Sarah suffered from mosquito bites. Plenty of people are already speculating about this article and using it as a spoiler.

Article from the Napa News:

Vintage High's 1995 yearbook features multiple photos of Jones in her roles as cheerleader, homecoming queen nominee and all-around popular girl. Next to her senior portrait, her activities are listed as "big game rally, powder puff, airband, fashion show, key club, women's ensemble, cheerleading and swimming/diving."

Although she wasn't selected homecoming queen, the yearbook from her senior year features a half-page story on Jones' nervous day awaiting the election. After going along with the other candidates to Napa's Don Giovanni's for dinner, she had this complaint: "I didn't eat all day because I was so nervous and when we got there the meals were small and coffee cost extra."

First comments from her family:

"She's very outgoing and strong," said older sister Abby Armstrong, 26, of Napa. "She'd roller-skate on balance beams, and my mom always talks about having to call the fire department to get her out of a tree when she was 2."

Jones told only immediate family and her boyfriend that she was going on "Survivor." To the rest of the world, she was visiting parents in Alaska.

Armstrong said she wasn't worried about her small-framed younger sister during her days and nights on the remote island of Nuku Hiva, a distant neighbor of Tahiti. "She's always looking for the adventure - her whole life is an adventure," Armstrong said. "She always finds the fun stuff. I think she definitely has the personality to win."
