Himura Kenshin is a young man who only desires peace. That he can't have for his past betrays him from it. Hitokiri Battousai (sword-bearing master assasin) was known in all Japan as a magnificent killer who killed for the Imperialists. He beat many to the ground, he killed for he thought it was right, he did not know any other path. He didn't know love, nor any other emotion, only the burning inside him that told him to kill. The Battousai and Kenshin were of course the same people, but Himura Kenshin took a vow to never kill again, that his sword would only be used for protection of others. The wandering samurai soon found a young woman, Miss Kaoru, who took him in and offered him food and shelter. He was greatful, but doing this he more or less put her in danger for many people still knew of the Battousai and craved to fight him. The found him, but none wanted to fight the kind Himura, but the ravenous Battousai. Kenshin found that he could never repent for all the lives he had taken, but tries his hardest to keep the people he loves safe. Miss Kaoru, Sanosuke, and young Yahiko all keep Kenshin in wonderful company, but the fighting may never stop.
