SEIBER, 59, died at his home Thursday after a short illness. He is survived by six children, five sons, Luke, Albert, William, Joe and Eldridge, one daughter, Mrs Lula Wagner, all of Laurel Grove. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Friday at Laurel Grove Baptist Church. The Rev Odas Harness and the Rev Lee Phillips officiated. Burial was in the Webb cemetery. Martin Funeral Home was in charge.

Mrs. Mercy Duncan, 83, died at 8 p.m. July 23 at her home on Oliver Springs RFD 3. she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Nancy Braden and Misses Jessie and Julia Duncan, Oliver Springs RFD 2, and a son, I. M. Duncan, Oliver Springs RFD 3, and a sister, Barbara Brown of Briceville.
Funeral services were held July 25 at Frost Bottom with the Rev. Lee Phillips and the Rev. Elmer Cox officiating.
Burial was at Frost Bottom.Holley Funeral Home was in charge.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Vann, 48, wife of William Vann, who died 20 after a lingering illness, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Rev. Luther Wilson and the Rev. John Phillips officiating. Burial was in church cemetery with Holley Funeral Home in charge.

Rosedale Man Is Hit-Run Victim Left On Highway

SEIBER, 24, Is Dead And No Trace Of Killer Is Found.

A hit-run killer claimed another victim on Anderson countys highways last Thursday night when a speeding car struck Fred
SEIBER, 24, of Rosedale, and left him dead on the roadside of Coal Creek.
A truck driver found the body at 10:15 p.m. and it was taken to Martin Funeral Home. Employees of the undertaker said Seiber's cap and shoes were found 200 feet from where his body lay. The body also appeared  to have been drag. Dr. J.M. Cox, county physician said
SEIBER died of a fractured skull, broken neck and crushed chest.
The young man was last seen at the Plaza Dance hall about 9:30 p.m. When found he had a dollar bill in his pocket along a Social Security card and a picture of a baby and a young woman.
The body was taken to Rosedale for services at 1 p.m. Saturday and burial was in the cemetery there.
SEIBER is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Bell SEIBER of Caryville, his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Riley SEIBER and sisters, Myrtle and Grace SEIBER.

Mrs. Amanda Bunch, 68, died Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs.Gertie Bunch of Wartburg Rt1.

Funeral Held Wednesday For Mechanic

Funeral services for Amos Phillips, 41, of Lake City Rt 2 were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Fratersville Baptist Church with the Rev. Edwin Phillips officiating. Burial was in Leach Cemetery. Mr. Phillips died Monday night at his home. He was a mechanic, a veteran of World War II and a member of Fratersville Baptist Church. Devonia Man Dies Monday Of Leukemia

Luther David Phillips, 22, of Devonia died Monday at 10 p.m. in the Medical division of Oak Ridge Institute of Nuclear Studies where he had been admitted July 3. He was a victim of leukemia. Funeral services were to be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church Devonia, with the Rev. Milford Ely and the Rev. Edmond Phillips officiating. Burial was in Bray Cemetery.

SEIBER, 86, died Thursday. Aug 15 at the home of her son Crosley SEIBER, Oliver Springs. She was the wife of the late Mike SEIBER and was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church at Devonia.
Surviving are Crosley of Oliver Springs and Harley of Devonia; she is also survived by a brother, William Bray of Knoxville, 23 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Seiber Cemetery, Devonia. The Rev. Dana Ward and the Rev. Bob Lively officiated.

Mrs.Phillips Dies, Native Of Stainville.
Mrs.Annie J. Phillips, 69, of Oliver Springs Rt.1 died Friday at 11:25 a.m.in Oak Ridge Hospital.   She was the widow of a coal miner,William Phillips, and formerly lived in the Stainville community of North Anderson County. Services were held Monday afternoon at Grave Hill Baptist Church near Stainville with the Rev. Edmund Phillips and the Rev. Carvin Phillips officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery. She was a member of that church.

Retired Farmer,Dies Friday.

John E. Bolinger, 85, a retired farmer,died Friday in Lake City Hospital.He had lived in the Lake City Nursing Home for some time. Bolinger had a small farm in  the Medford community, south of Lake City and farmed on a small scale. Earlier he had worked a a coal miner.
He was married to the former Ocie
SEIVERS.
Services were at 4p.m. Sunday at Clinch River Baptist Church,where he was a member.
The Rev. W.H. Beets and the Rev. George Delozier officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Beside his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs.Boyd (Geneva) Webster of Lake City, two sons, Dorcie Bolinger of Cleveland,OH, and Luther Bolinger of Clinton, 27 grandchildren, 54 great- grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Oliver Springs Boy Killed In Front Of Home.

An Oliver Springs boy, playing on a homemade wagon,was killed last Wensday at 2:20 p.m.when he was hit by a pickup truck. The death of Fred Gene Tackett, 12, occurred in front of his home on Cemetery Rd. within the city limits of Oliver Springs. The boy's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Tackett.

The father is employed as a truck driver for Bowlin Coal Co. in Jellico, and the mother at Snow White Drive-In Restaurant in Oak Ridge. The wagon on which the child was riding rolled from the drive-way of the home into the path of a pickup truck driven by Roy Nation, 28, Oliver Springs Rt. 2, as he traveled east toward Oak Ridge, police said. No charges have been filed.

Fred would have been a sixth grader at Oliver Springs Elementary School. He enjoyed caring for his pets, which included a dog and hamsters. He was born in Caryville, from where the family moved about three years ago. The boy was the youngest, child in the family, having a brother Allen, 16, who will be a junior at Oliver Springs High School, and two sisters, Verda, 17 and Delores, 19 both also at home. Services were held at 11a.m. Saturday at Beech Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. J. T. Leach officiating. Burial was in Beech Fork Cemetery. He also leaves grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tackett and Mr. and Mrs. Jack

Mrs. Phillips Of Devonia Dies Saturday

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Free Community Baptist Church for Mrs. Annie Phillips, 81, of Devonia Rt.1, who died Saturday at Lake City Hospital.
Mrs.Phillips was the wife Mark Phillips, a retired coal miner. The Devonia native was a member of the Free Community Baptist Church. She leaves her husband, four sons, Columbus Jones of West Virginia. Walker Phillips of Michigan, Ruben Phillips of Devonia and Jimmy Phillips of Muddlesboro, Ky. four daughters, Mrs. Oma Kennedy of Duff, Mrs.Girtha
SIEBER of Illinios, Mrs. Julia Bunch and Mrs. Maxie SEIBER, both of Devonia, 59 grandchildren, two half-brothers, L and Levi Daugherty, both of Caryville.
The Rev.Carvin Phillips officiated at the services.
Burial was in the Tommy Phillips Graveyard.

Mart York, 65, a retired coal miner who resided on Devonia Rt 1, died at 5:50 p.m. Monday in Oak Ridge Hospital. He had been a patient there since last Thursday. York a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He also belonged to  the Imperial Order of Redmen White Fox Tribe No 40. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ellen

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday(today) at Moore's Chapel Baptist Church.The Rev.Richard Phillips will officiate and burial will be in Bray Cemetery.

Mrs. SEIBER, Frost Bottom Midwife, Dies

A widwife for a number of years in the communities around Oliver Springs, Mrs. Myrtle
SEIBER, 96, formerly of Frost Bottom community died last Thursday at Shannondale Nursing Home in Knoxville.
Mrs.
SEIBER helped with home deliveries from the time she was a young woman until she was middle-aged. A native of the Frost Bottom area, she was a farm woman and enjoyed quilting.
She was a member of the Friendly Wecome Baptist Church in her community.
Her husband, Charlie
SEIBER, died about15 years ago.
She  is survived by two daughters, Anne Kidwell of Knoxville, and Mrs. Nora (Charlie) Brown of Frost Bottom, two sons, Parker Lowe of Gainesville, and Willard Lowe of Oak Ridge, nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Charlettie B. Mullins of Oliver Springs.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Friendly Welcome Baptist Church with the Rev. James McClure and Frank Collett officiating.
Burial was in Frost Bottom Cemetery.

SEIBER, 77, of South Main St. LakeCity, died Monday at St .Mary's North Hospital. Mrs. SEIBER enjoyed flower gardening when she was younger. She and her husband, William SEIBER, who died 39 years ago, were native of the Devonia area.

A Devonia community native, Mrs. Lillie Patterson, 72, died at 4 p.m. Monday at Methodist Medical Center.
Mrs. Patterson, who enjoyed quilting and raising flowers, was a member of the Free Communion Baptist Church.
Her husband, George died in 1940. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Guy (Christine) Byrge and Mrs. Cordis (Jurline) Byrge, both of Devonia, one grandson, brother, Bryant
SEIBER of Petros and a sister, Miss. Luvernie SEIBER of Devoina.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home in Lake City with the Rev. Dana Ward officiating.

SEIBER, 63 of Pioneer Rt. 2, died at 1:30 p.m.Tuesday at Lafollette Medical Center.
He was a former resident of the Devonia community.
SEIBER was a member of Waldens Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs.Erma Younce
SEIBER, five daughters, Mrs. Billy (Jean) Smith of Knoxville, Miss. Barbara SEIBER of Jacksboro, Mrs. Ben (Dessie L) Ward, Miss. Paul Lloyd, 84, died Monday evening, October 6,1986, at his home in Wartburg.  He was the son of the late Elbert and Parzita Lloyd.  Preceded in death by his wife, Ella Douglas Lloyd, surviving are eight daughters: Pauline Neal, Judy Simpson, Patsy Shelton and Terry Morgan, all of Wartburg; Ruth Carender and Myrtle Terry, both of Muncie, Indiana; Barbara Blu of Elgin, Illinois, and Brenda Evans of Clinton; three sons: James Lloyd of Lancing, Don Lloyd of Radcliff, Kentucky, and Milford D. SEIBER, 63, died Friday night at Methodist Medical Center. Mrs. SEIBER, who was a member of the Sunrise Chapter No. 364 of the order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by a son John R. SEIBER and a daughter, Mrs. Ella Jones. She is survived by her husband, John SEIBER, daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Elise) SEIBER, two sons, Pless SEIBER of Powell, and William SEIBER of Devonia, 14 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Free Communion Missionary Baptist Church  with the Revs. Warner Hawkins and Ray Scarbrough officiating. Burial was in
SEIBER Cemetery.

John David Baxter Jr., 55, of Andersonville died Saturday night in Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
Mr.Baxter, a veteran of the Army, was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Powell. He was employee of the Knoxville News-Sentinel and former employee of Dempster Brothers, with 28 years service.

Services were Tuesday in Temple Baptist Church with pastor Clarence Sexton and son, the Rev. Matt Sexton officiating. Weaver's Cumberland Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Fannie Snow Moore, 86, of Norris, died Sunday in St. Mary's Medical Center. Mrs. Moore was born June 16, 1908 in Roane County, the daughter of Walter and Nina Shilling Snow. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Norris. Mrs.Moore is preceded in death by her husband, Auburn L.Moore, and by her parents.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Coleen and Bill Sheppard of Norris, and Joan and Fred Harris of Powell, grandchildren, Sandra Sheppard, Debra Ball and husband Jeff, Lisa Shepphard, Shelley Harris and Jason Harris, great-granddaughter, Jessica Shepphard, brothers, Ray Snow of Lake City and Jimmy Snow of Jacksboro, and sisters, Artie Mae

SEIBER, 89, of New River, died Jan 18 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
She was born Jan. 31, 1904, in Stainville, to the late John B. and Ida Belle Ward Phillips.
Mrs.
SEIBER was a member of Grave Hill Baptist Church. She operated SEIBER Grocery Store in New River for over 35 years and was a notary public for over 50 years. Her husband, Ben SEIBER, who died in 1969, was an Anderson County Justice of the Peace for several years. A son, Charlie SEIBER, died in 1961. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Rufus and Callie SEIBER and Robert and Charline SEIBER of Andersonville, a son, Doylas SEIBER of New River, daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Kenny Bailey of New River, Rose and Calvin Adams of Miamisburg, Ohio, Pearl and Vic Mccoy of Lafollette, 23 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, sisters, Ola Phillips of New River, and Dorothy Phillips Goans of Braden Flats.
Services were Saturday at Grave Hill Baptist Church in New River with the Rev. David
SEIBER and the Rev. Dana Ward officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Cox Funeral Home in Lake City in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for William Earl Caruthers, 87, of Crossville, who passed away Oct. 18, 1998, were held Oct. 21 from the chapel of Burris Funeral Home, with burial in Crossville City Cemetery. Bros. B.J. Brown and Everett Wyatt officiated.
He was born Aug. 10, 1911, in Cumberland County, the son of William Owen Caruthers and Addie Mae Caruthers.
Mr. Caruthers was the owner of Caruthers Grocery on Lantana Road.
Survivors include his sons, Tom Caruthers, Owen Caruthers, and Wally Caruthers; daughters, Faye Evans, Karen
SEIBER, and Sharon Kilby, all of Crossville; Louise Evans of Fort Pierce, FL, and Earlene Hawn of Pleasant Hill; brothers, Fred Caruthers of Crossville and James Caruthers of Wellington, OH; sisters, Marie Daves of Crossville, and Nellie Henley of Miamisburg, OH; 33 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Katherine Caruthers.
Pallbearers were Wayne Caruthers, David Caruthers, Ricky Caruthers, Ronnie Caruthers, Eugene Hawn, and Brian Hawn.

Kathleen was a member of The Kellytown Baptist Church and a former Trustee of The Women's Auxillary of The Fraternal Order of Eagle's Aerie #2514. She enjoyed every moment spent with her grandchildren and she loved being on the lake, camping and boating. She is a lifelong resident of Oliver Springs. She had worked as a Department Manager at Heck's and also at J.C. Penney before becoming ill.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17 at 8:30 p.m. in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Hensley officiating. Friends may call Saturday between the hours of 6:00 and 8:30 p.m.
Burial and graveside services will be held Sunday, April 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Anderson Memorial
Gardens.

Ramsey Wilson, age 83, of Jacksboro, departed this life Saturday September 18, 1999. Mr. Wilson was a member and Deacon of Round Rock Baptist Church. Mr. Wilson was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved to spend time with his family and friends. Mr. Wilson was a member of the U.M.W.A.
