Opal Byrge McCann,  62, Wartburg, died Sept 19, 2000.  Preceded by parents, Melton and Dora McGhee Byrge and brothers, Audie, Charlie, Elsic and Melton Byrge Jr.  Survivors: daughter Shirlene and husband Melvin Green of Wartburg; son and daughter-in-law Danny and Tracie Farmer of Wartburg; five granddaughters, Shailyn and Shanin Mehle and Danielle, Megan and Lauren Farmer; sister Ophia Solomon of Harriman; special nephew Clarence
SEIBER of Wartburg; special friend David McCann.
Burial at Victory Church Cemetery.

Basil E. �Scoby� Ward, age 78, of Petros, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2001, at the Lifecare Center of Morgan County, surrounded by his wife and daughter. He had accepted the Lord into his life, and was of the Baptist faith. He was a machinist at the Y-12 Plant for 38 years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Sunrise Chapter OES 364, a 50 year member of Black Diamond Lodge #625 F&AM of Petros, 32nd degree member of Scottish Rite Masonic Temple, and a member of the Shriners Kerbela Temple. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was the owner of the Petros Cafe', a family owned and operated business during the 1950's and 60's. He will be remembered for his love of Blue Grass Music, trains, picture taking and mountain riding in his old Willys jeep and later a 4-wheel drive truck. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Beecher and Ora Lou Adkisson Ward; brothers, Ross and Roland Ward; son-in-law, Kenneth Harris, and daughter-in-law, SheenaWard. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Lida Liles Ward; three loving children, son, Darrell (Ann) Ward; daughters, Patricia Harris and Alice Dagley, all of Petros; four grandchildren that he really enjoyed and loved very much; granddaughter, Tonya Dagley Scarbro (special friend, Richie Curtain) of Petros; grandsons, Wayne (Carmen) Ward of Wartburg, Kendall Harris (fiancee, Teresa Everett), and Tony (Crystal) Dagley of Petros. The light of his life was his eight great-grandchildren; five grandsons, Matthew, Mark, Jacob,  Zachery, and Isaac, and three great-granddaughters, Madison, Sarah, and Mackenzie. Also survived by four loving sisters, Inela Phillips of Oliver Springs, Delores (L.E.) Redmon of Wartburg, Lula
SEIBER and Shelba (Baxter) Trail of Petros; sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Tucker and Betty (B.J.) Wright of Petros; brother-in-law, Newt Silvey of Oliver Springs; aunt, Ada Adkisson Peters of Orlando, Florida. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, October 25, 2001, from 6-8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. A Masonic Service will begin at 8 p.m. with the funeral service to  follow with Rev. Don Daugherty officiating. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, 1 p.m. at Petros Cemetery.

Freddie Vann, 73, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Mon. Feb. 25, 2002 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.  Mr. Vann was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Vann and by two brothers, Ralph Vann and Kenneth Vann.  Survivors include wife of 51 years, Ethel Vann of Oliver Springs, mother, Rosie Vann of Oliver Springs, daughters, Jewell Sledge and husband James of Sweetwater, Deanna Russell and husband Tim of Sweetwater, Ramona Turpin and husband Danny of Oliver Springs, Ella Mae Lowe of Oliver Springs, Wanda White and husband Chuck of Riceville, and Vickie Clark and husband Benny of Oak Ridge; sons, Nathan Vann of Wartburg, Darrell Vann and wife Cissy of Sweetwater and Allen Vann and wife Misty of Philadelphia, 25 grandchildren, brothers, Irvin Vann of Oliver Springs, Charles F. Vann of Oliver Springs and Robert Van, Jr. of Coalfield; sisters; Gladys Huston of Kingston, Mildred
SEEBER, Odessa Vann, Margaret Greene, Ida Ruffner and Naomi SEIBER all of Oliver Springs.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Mr. Vann was born Jan. 16, 1929 in Morgan County.  He is a lifelong resident of this area.  Mr. Vann was a Primative Baptist preacher for 49 years.  He was a member of Elverton Bapotist Church.  He was a retired builder and a member of local labor union #818.  Burial in Indian Creek Cemetery.  Sharp Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Paul F. Russell, age 72, of Clinton, formerly of Dayton, Ohio died on March 6 at Hospice of Dayton. He worked for Premier Rubber Mfg. for 30 years and OurLady of Rosary for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sampson and Myrtle Russell; four brothers, Burton, Cecil, Shirley Glenn and Clifford Russell and twin sister Aileen Baker.
He is survived by his wife Reba; two sons, Greg Russell of Padukah, Ky., Neil Russell of Dayton, Ohio; two daughters, Michelle Brun and Lisa Harville of Dayton; four sisters, Lydia, Thelma Jean, Effie and Evelyn; four brothers, Reynold, Raymond, Kenneth and Fred; two stepsons, Darrell
SEIBER and Randy SEIBER, all of Tennessee eight step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, March 11, 2:00 p.m. at Walters Chapel in LaFollette. Interment was in the Warren Memorial Gardens in Elk Valley.

Annie Mae Bunch CARROLL

Annie Mae Bunch Carroll,  89, passed away Monday, June 3, 2002 at her daughter's home in Petros.  She was born May 21, 1913. She was a member of Grave Hill Baptist Church in Briceville.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.  She will be remembered for the hard working, strong and loving person she was.  She worked for many years with the TN Forestry Division of Morgan and Campbell County.  She worked as the lookout person at the Petros and Caryville Mountain fire towers.  In her final days, she truly enjoyed having her friends and family near her.  She could come out of no where and make you laugh. She was preceded by her husbands Odis J. Carroll and Mitchell
SEIBER; children Mitchell and Arnold SEIBER; parents Ramsey and Viney Patterson Bunch; sister Mary Bunch Price and brothers Fisher, Lorenza, Leonza and Tillman Bunch.  She is survived by her children Nancy Kennedy of Petros, Margaret Byrge of Caryville, Lorene Ward of Caryville, Austin SEIBER of Wartburg and Pitney SEIBER of Sisseton, SD; sister Elsie Bunch Liles of Oliver Springs; brothers Robert, Castel, Sidney and Victor Bunch; 24 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and special friends and carefivers Jane SEIBER, Ruthie SEIBER, Joby Byrge, Inez Carroll and Mari Torres. 
The family will receive friends Wednesday,June 5, 2002 from 5 to 8 p.m. 
The graveside service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Petros Cemetery.

SEIBER, 81, of LaFollette, died on Friday, June 28 at St. May's Medical Center of Campbell County. He was a retired coal miner, veteran of WWII, and member of the Big Creek Gap Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by son, Huston
SEIBER, grandson Jared SEIBER; sister, Juanita Smith and his parents, Mark  Sr. and Katy SEIBER. He is survived by wife, Mae SEIBER of LaFollette; five daughters, Lynn SEIBER, Patsy Greenwood, Kathy Cross, Cindy SEIBER and Susan North, all of LaFollette; three sons, Johnny SEIBER of LaFollette, Jim SEIBER of Claxton, and Bill SEIBER of Speedwell and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Mack SEIBER Jr.; sister, Myoma SEIBER, both of Duff.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Walters Chapel with Rev. Caswell Barnes officiating. Interment was in the Campbell County Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials be send to the LaFollette Rescue Squad. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

SEIBER, 82, died October 24th, 2002 at Sunbridge Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen F.
SEIBER; daughter, Glena Ruth; parents, A.T. and Maggie Bunch; brothers, Otha, Paul and Clifford Bunch.
Mrs. Seiber is survived by her daughter, Helen Harrington; sons, Bill
SEIBER, F. Randal SEIBER, Thomas G. SEIBER; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Iva Breeden, Juanita Hickman; brother, Harrison Bunch.
Funeral services were October 25th at the Rose Mortuary Chapel with Reverends Herbert Jones and Ernest Ward officiating.
Interment was in Willoughby Cemetery.
Rose Mortuary, Broadway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
