I don’t own Inuyasha…But I do own…ummm…something somewhere I’m sure… “Talking” ‘Thinking’ //Disembodied Voices// *Sound effects* *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Len laid on the ground with his hand supporting his head. It was dark out finally. He was sure the day would never end it had been probably the most interesting day of his life. After the curious “Sitting” incident he had met everyone that was currently staying in the village. Shippou, Inuyasha, and Kaede were some of the most interesting people he had ever met. Kagome and Sango seemed the more level headed of the group but still had a few break downs of girlish moments. Everyone had long since gone to bed and Len was alone outside the hut trying to do the same. It was a little hard for him to adjust to his new situation. But he had a feeling he’d be their for a while so he didn’t have much of a choice. He chuckled to himself at the situation. It amazed him that he was holding two souls in his body, unfortunately the older one would eventually consume and kill him. Well not kill him in the conventional sense but he would cease to be himself. He turned over and closed his eyes, hoping sleep would eventually come. *~*~*~*~*~*~ Next Day ~*~*~*~*~*~* The army was large, one of the biggest in all of Japan. Many other armies had been destroyed or had joined with the bigger one. They marched across the land with the confidence of an invincible juggernaut. Now they were a confused disorganized mess of men and horses. Running every way to get away from their newest opponent. Generals shouted orders to their men to turn and stand, and die with honor. Thousands lay dead or wounded, the moaning of the dying was enough to drive a man insane. Healers struggled to attended to the wounded and one by one they were wiped out also. A flash of light flew through the air hitting a soldier and instantly dissolving him. When the smoke cleared Majin Buu stood there, holding his finger in the air and laughing. Suddenly he grabbed his head and screamed in pain. “I told you not to do that.” Buu grunted and growled as the pain began to fade. He felt a presence approaching him, sticking his arm out he soon found his hand around the throat of one particularly brave soldier who was brandishing a katana. Buu game the man a sick smile and began to laugh, then he squeezed and the life drained out of the man. The sword slipped out of his and as the body fell and hit the ground. Buu walked past the rows of fallen men they were yelling at him, calling him vile names and insulting him in a tongue he didn’t understand. He stopped when he felt a very familiar presence hit him. Before he could pinpoint it the presence was gone. He stopped walking and stood to survey his work. He laughed once more and disappeared in a flash ~*~*~*~*~*~* Miroku wiped the sweat from his brow. It was hot in the vault he was in, but luckily it had all that he needed. The monks were surprised when the young houshi had come to them requesting information on the final battle between Saiyins and Demons. They were very helpful though and left him too his studies. He sipped a mug of water they had left him and opened another scroll. The information he had already found was very interesting. The scroll he currently held in his hand was a complete telling of Kakarot’s entire life, up to his last battle and his death by Inuyasha’s grandfather’s hand. He soon realized that most of what he was reading was translated various times since that last battle had happened. It was curious that only one Saiyin’s name ever appeared. Kakarot That was the only name that ever appeared in any scroll written by youkai historians. The name was usually followed by some sort of title after, the most common being “the pure” and “the noble”. Miroku set about transcribing all the relevant texts that Inuyasha wanted. He was upset to find there weren’t any real Saiyin history’s in the monastery’s texts. He figured that it was due to the fact that the youkai leaders did their best to destroy all mention of them outside of their own texts. The only history was that of the life of Kakarot, he was obviously held in high esteem by most demons who were around during that time. He turned his attention to another pile of just papers. He picked one up and something caught his attention. It was another name, he was sure of it. The name confused him though, it was the name of the Saiyin prince Vegeta. He was supposed to have been killed shortly after Kakarot. However, the paper he was currently reading was written about two hundred years after the final battle. Apparently Vegeta was not killed, but severely wounded. His body was stolen away before it could be buried by the victors. The paper didn’t say who it was specifically, but apparently it was a very powerful monk. Not much else was said, the writing was cryptic and looked more like notes than an actually account. He continued scanning the paper then he noticed something that would be very helpful to their upcoming battle. It was a paragraph near the bottom of the paper. According to it Vegeta had a spell cast on him to keep him alive until a descendent of Kakarot returned. Miroku grabbed some blank papers and began furiously copying down all the relevant information. After more than an hour of no stop writing he had all the information he believed he needed. He finished his water and made his way up to the main chamber. He bid the other monks farewell as he and Kilala made their way back towards the village and his friends. Miroku thanked Buddha for his incredible luck in finding the information he needed and to have only been gone for less than a day. *~*~*~*~*~*~ In a large candle light room, three monks busied themselves with various tasks of cleaning and tending. Near the far end of a wall sat a large and ornate throne which was shrouded in darkness. It was the only spot in the room that didn’t have any direct candle light shining on it. A shadowy figure sat on the throne, unmoving. One of the monks brought a large amount of candles and placed them in a circle around the throne. The figure in the throne slowly came into view. He was clad in blue robes with white boots. His hair stood up straight from the top of his head. The spikes of the black hair on jutted at very slight angles from the bulk of the hair. His eyes were closed and his mouth was turned down in an angry scowl. He was breathing in deep shallow breaths, as if he was sleeping. Next too the throne sat a set of light battle armor. The blue cloth and large chest and shoulder guards were piled neatly next to the sleeping figure, almost as if he was about to wake and put them on and lead an army into battle. The monk who had placed the candles stood awestruck in front of the man. The power of his presence was enough to make any of these humble men quake in fear and, at the same time, reverence. His aura, while dulled down, still could be felt by even the newest of holy men. That was one of the reason he was kept in a room so far away from the main part of the building, so none of the new monks would wander in by accident. Only the most senior of the order were even allowed to be near the room or in it. If only the visiting monk had known that the monastery he had just left was once a Saiyin stronghold, and one of the bases of operation for the prince. *~*~*~*~*~*~ Len woke up with a start, as he was doused in very cold water. He sat up in a flash, and could feel the cold suck the breath right out of him. Wiping his eyes he spun his head around trying to find the culprit, but couldn’t see one. He got up and tried to shake all the water he could from his outfit. “It’s about dam time you woke” Came an annoyed voice from the door of the hut “The sun came up hours ago, we could have started training by now.” Inuyasha turned on his heel and went back inside, leaving Len confused, wet, and very grumpy. He shook himself a few more times, and then made his way into the hut. Inside he saw the group sitting around a small fire eating. Kagome stood up and handed Len a towel, which he eagerly accepted. When he was done with the towel he dropped it on Inuyasha’s head. “Hey, what the hell was that for!?” The startled Hanyou yelled. “Just call it my way of saying thanks for waking me up.” Len smirked at the half-demon and then sat down next to Sango and Shippou. Inuyasha was about to make a move towards Len, but he caught Kagome mouth “sit” at him, and he stopped dead in his track. The group made small talk as they finished up their meal. Once they had finished Inuyasha announced that he would be taking Len to a clearing outside the village to train, he invited Sango along also. Inuyasha realized that she was a much more polished fighter than he, and would be a valuable asset in the process of training the young Saiyin. “Good luck guys, have fun” Kagome called out to her retreating friends. She sighed and hoped that Inuyasha didn’t hurt Len, or even Sango for that matter. None of them had any idea what kind of fighter he was, or if any of his Saiyin powers might manifest themselves before he could learn to control them. It was a proverbial crapshoot. *~*~*~*~*~*~ The small group made their way to the clearing, when they arrived Len noticed it was the same one where he had first encountered Sango and her gigantic boomerang. He laughed to himself as he remembered how those events had unfolded, and how amazed he was that such a small person was able to throw such a giant weapon. He looked at her as she prepared for whatever she and the half demon had planned for him. She was at least five inches shorter than him and couldn’t weigh more than one hundred and twenty pounds. The boomerang she carried was almost as big as she was, and was very heavy. He turned his attention to the Half-demon Inuyasha, who was currently waiting for something to happen. He looked as though his mind was elsewhere and not focused for training. The hanyou looked like a formidable opponent, his claws and fangs were enough, but the sword he carried seemed to have a power signature all its own. Len realized that within in the last two days his awareness of other people’s power levels had increased dramatically. Before he had arrived in the feudal era, he could barely feel the power coming from anyone, now it was like his entire perception had been changed. He noticed it had happened shortly after his encounter with that strange voice. “So” He asked after a few minutes of silence between the group. “What should we do first?” “Have you had any training of any kind?” Sango asked. “I have had different martial arts training, but I really haven’t kept up with much since…” Len trailed off and his whole countenance changed, he suddenly looked very upset about something. Sango noticed this immediately, but Inuyasha seemed uninterested. Then again the hanyou had been acting rather strangely, almost civil. It was a little weird for the demon exterminator, suddenly Inuyasha seemed as someone she could almost consider a friend. “HEY!” Inuyasha yelled “Are we gonna do this or what, we don’t got all day ya know.” Both Len and Sango were taken away from their thoughts and focused once more on the training. With Inuyasha in the lead, it could turn out to be a long night indeed. *~*~*~*~*~ Kagome was enjoying the peace and quiet of the village. It was nice to relax once and a while and not have to worry about anything. It was a rare treat for her to not have to listen to Inuyasha complaining about being behind with getting the jewel shards or Sango and Miroku flirting all the time or Shippou trying with all his energy to make Inuyasha loose his mind. Some times she really believed the young kitsune had a serious death wish. Right now Shippou was inside the hut drawing to his hearts content, Kagome had brought him a whole new box of crayons when she had last come back from home. She was glad she did, because now at least one of her group could loose himself in something other than fear and dread. Her mind floated towards the newest member of their group. Len was an interesting case. Even though her miko powers weren’t fully developed, she could faintly feel the two auras Miroku had mentioned. Even if she didn’t have any powers she could feel the power that radiated from the man. Then again when they had first talked he seemed like a child, his eyes were wide as he listened to her explain exactly what was going on. Then when she had asked about himself and his past, she could feel a shift in his being. His eyes narrowed and his power flared up. She doubted he even realized it. She knew that something very bad must have happened to him that would have caused a reaction like that. “Kagome?” The young miko looked for the origin of the voice. Her eyes fell on Miroku and Kilala. The monk had a stack of paper in his left hand and was carrying an even bigger grin on his face. He must have found out something good. She was surprised though; she thought it would have taken much longer to find the information he needed. “Miroku? You’re back already? I thought you’d be gone for at least a week.” She said as he got up. “I thought so as well but Buddha has smiled on me. I found an old monastery with a vast wealth of knowledge just waiting to be read.” He placed the papers in Kagome’s hand. “Do you want to read them, or should I just tell you about it?” Miroku’s eyes were wide and he had a very goofy grin on his face. Kagome was pretty sure he was either insane, or really wanted to tell the story. “Why don’t you go ahead and just tell me Sensei.” Kagome mock bowed and sat back down. Miroku’s grin got wider and he sat down across from her. “Well one of the most interesting things I found was an entire telling of Kakarot’s life. I suppose I’ll start from the beginning. When he was a young child his grandfather, who was a human, raised him. I found this rather odd, but apparently he had wandered off as a small child and fallen, knocking himself unconscious and also losing his memories. He was raised as a good and pure child. When he was a child of about six his grandfather, Gohan, died leaving him an orphan. Eventually he came under the care of an old monk named Roshi who raised him. This old monk discovered that Kakarot had a very high power level and decided to train the young boy. He was a fast learner and an incredible fighter. He could defeat fighters twice his age. It was around this time that some of his Saiyin powers began to manifest themselves. Roshi taught the young boy how to focus his energy to allow him to do incredible things. The old monk was also the creator and sole possessor of a very powerful energy attack called the Kamehameha wave. Kakarot became very adept at using this attack, but only used it as a last resort in any battle. He sometimes feared that he may accidently kill someone.” Miroku took a breath and stretched his back and arms. He still had Kagome’s undivided attention. The monk stood up and continued his stretching. The sun had moved a little in the sky, he guessed maybe a good half hour had past since he began speaking. Sitting back down, he picked up a mug of water that one of the elder monks had given him. He took a drink of it and offered some to the young miko sitting across from him. Once she had finished she motioned to the houshi to continue. “You see he was unique in that he hated to kill. It was a complete last resort; he always saw the good in everybody, even someone trying to kill him. Anyway, a few years later he got in a battle with a demon named Piccolo. He was an incredible fighter, but Kakarot defeated him. He didn’t kill him, and later on Piccolo became a friend and ally. Shortly after the battle with Piccolo, a man named Raditz came looking for Kakarot. This man was actually Kakarot’s Saiyin brother and had come to locate him and bring him back to Saiyin lands. Kakarot refused, having made many friends and even starting a family with a human woman, who’s name isn’t mentioned in any of the readings I found. He also had a son, who is only mentioned as having a stronger power than Kakarot, but he disappeared after the battle with Raditz. Raditz had kidnapped Kakarot’s son and demanded that Kakarot return with him. Kakarot and Piccolo hunted the Saiyin down and fought a great battle in which Raditz was killed and Kakarot was severely wounded. He was sent to a small island to train with a demon master named Kai. His power grew tremendously during that time and he soon ascended.” “Ascended?” Kagome looked at Miroku in confusion “Yes, it’s what happens to a Saiyin once their power reaches a certain level. It can only be first triggered by an uncontrollable rage. In this form Kakarot was probably one of the most powerful beings on the planet. It didn’t stop there; he kept training from that point on. He rarely fought, but he eventually ascended to the second level. It was at that point, when he returned from his training that he returned to Saiyin lands. Only a few weeks after he was accepted into Saiyin society did he learn of King Vegeta’s plans to seek world dominance. Kakarot was disgusted and went back home to his family. He learned he had another son; this son’s name was also not recorded. It is know that this son fought in the final battle between demons and Saiyins. Not much else is known after that was written. There is a lot of stuff missing. It only picks up again with a re-telling of the final battle. This was when Kakarot ascended to the third level. His son also ascended, but was quickly killed. The murder of his son is what sent him over the edge. The description of his ascension is vague, but it does say that when his son was struck down, Kakarot let out a yell that shook the countryside. His power could be felt rising. When he finally ascended the shock wave knocked over everyone in the area. It killed many of the weaker demon and Saiyin warriors.” “Will Len grow that powerful?” Kagome was actually frightened of the power that Miroku was describing. “There’s no way to know. Anyway, the story doesn’t go on much further than that. It mentions that Kakarot was so enraged he began slaying demon after demon, rallying the remaining Saiyin warriors behind him. It was Inuyasha’s grandfather that slew him. That’s where the story ends.” Miroku looked at Kagome, who was currently wearing a look of utter confusion. It was a lot of information for anyone to digest, regardless of how prepared they all were this would weigh heavily on them. None more than Len… *~*~*~*~*~*~*~ In the clearing Inuyasha was having a hard time trying to figure out his opponent. When he attacked him, he could barely hit him. Other times it was as if the opponent was moving in slow motion. Len was confused himself. He found himself remembering things that he knew weren’t things he had ever been taught. Names of techniques floated into his mind that he had never heard of. He just couldn’t think about them fully as the dog-demon was going at him full force. Just was he was about to block the hanyou’s powerful right fist hit him in the chest, knocking him into a tree near the edge of the clearing. He was knocked out cold. “Len!” Sango shouted as she ran to the downed Saiyin. She got to him and kneeled down. There was some blood coming from his head, it wasn’t a bad wound but Sango was still worried. He wouldn’t be of any use if Inuyasha killed him on the first day of training. “Hey! Is he quittin on me already?” The dog demon yelled to the exterminator. “No, he’s just knocked out. I think we should bring him back to the village.” “No way. He said not to stop no matter what. So we’ll wait. Got that?” Sango just grumbled as she tended to Len’s wound with the first aid kit Kagome had insisted on them taking. Inuyasha just sat cross legged as he waited for the Saiyin to wake up. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Len sat in the black, inky void of his mind. This time he wasn’t sacred of the void. There were no random scenes of battles swirling around him, just blackness. “Hello?” He shouted into the void. All he got was an echo of his own voice. There was no response, and Len sighed. He didn’t know what to expect this time. ‘Probably another random voice.’ //Ah Kakarot. I have found you at last and in such a pathetic position. Taking out by a demon, and not even a full blooded one at that. Where is your Saiyin pride?// This voice wasn’t the same one that had visited him before, this one was much gruffer and had a very arrogant tone to it. “I’m sorry” Len replied “My name is Len, not Kakarot.” //You fool, I know full well who you are. I am addressing you by your proper name.// “How are you even contacting me? Are you another person living inside of me?” //No, I am Vegeta. The prince of all Saiyins. We’ll meet face to face soon enough. As of right now, I have cut off Kakarot’s connection to you.// “Why what to you need me for? I’m fully capable of doing this myself.” //Oh are you? How to you propose to reach your potential or even ascend. There are very few people still living that know those secrets. Unfortunately…you are one. I’m here to help you. I’m going to take over your body so you can see how a Saiyin is supposed to fight. NOW WAKE UP!!!!!// *~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Len slowly stirred, which cause Sango to jump. He hadn’t finished dressing his wound. She tried to hold him down, but he just threw her off of him. She looked up at his face as he stood. He wasn’t Len His whole face had changed. It was sharper than before, more defined. His mouth was twisted in a superior smirk. His hair was now standing completely straight up and formed an “M” shape around his forehead. “You” He said in a voice that wasn’t his own. He pointed at the sitting Hanyou “Stand and face a true Saiyin warrior.” Inuyasha looked at Len, his aura had changed. It wasn’t the mix of blue and gold anymore. It was a completely different one, it was red. “Who are you? You aren’t Len.” “Very perceptive. Right now you aren’t dealing with that weakling. You are facing some one much more powerful.” “Feh” Inuyasha snorted. Without warning his opponent began to yell. A golden glow surrounded him. The half demon could feel his power rising. Not sure about what to do, Inuyasha leapt at his opponent hoping to catch him off guard. His attack was sensed by the being in Len’s body and the Hanyou was knocked out of the air like he was a rag doll. Only by the grace of his superior agility did he not land face first on the ground. The being let out one last yell and a shock wave of power surged around the clearing, knocking Inuyasha and Sango down. “You are facing the Prince of all Saiyins…Vegeta.” Vegeta stood up straight, and his appearance had once again change. He looked more muscular, and his hair had turned golden. “I don’t care who you are” Inuyasha spat “I’ll knock you out of Len’s body.” “Drop dead.” Vegeta said calmly as he launched a shot of energy at Inuyasha. It would have hit, except he had drawn the Tetsuaiga and blocked the attack. “Not in your lifetime pal.” Inuyasha leapt again at Vegeta. He swung his sword and it slice clean through the Saiyin Prince. At least it would have if the Saiyin was still there. Inuyasha noticed his absence as soon as Tetsuaiga(sp?) had hit the ground. “Pathetic. Is that all you’ve got.” Inuyasha turned in time just to see Vegeta swing a fist at him. The force of the punch was unlike anything the Hanyou had ever experienced. Vegeta’s fist had glown white as he swung. Once it connected the force threw the hanyou into the forest, and through a few trees. Sango leapt up to action. She grabbed her boomerang and readied it. She was behind Vegeta about two hundred feet. She flung her weapon and it cut through the air and whizzed towards the Saiyin prince. Vegeta smirked and in an instant he dissapered. He reapered again a few seconds later, just enough for Sango to see where he was before disappearing again. The demon exterminator pulled out her sword to use as defense for when her opponent next appeared. Within seconds more he did and hovered in the air with his fist raised, poised to strike. Sango swung the sword with the flat edge, hoping to knock out the warrior. Just as the sword would have hit Vegeta, he disappeared once more, the sword whizzed harmlessly in the air. Moments after she had swung she felt something strike her in the back. It was Vegeta’s foot. He was in the air and looked down on the girl as his attack landed. She was instantly winded. The thrill of the battle had excited Vegeta, he landed and smirked at the damage he had caused. “Maybe I’ll just keep this body instead, I’m more than powerful enough to stop any threat.” He laughed out loud but was stopped soon after when he heard chanting behind him. “Kame….hame….HA!!!!!!!!” Vegeta was knocked out instantly as the incredible beam of energy hit him. As unconsciousness swept over him, he could make out a vague figure standing behind him. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Woo Hoo!!!! Three chapters down…a whole bunch to go. I had to throw Vegeta in there. He will be important to the story, I think. I hope the action scene was ok, Im not great at it and that was the longest one I have ever written. I guess it should be as such…seeing as how this is the longest stay I have ever written…EVER. Anyway, read and review…thanks ^.^ |
