- Chapter 2 |
| Howdy peoples ^.^!!!. The Sarge
is back and ready for more. I’m glad to see that my story has been
accepted positively. So I want to thank the few that have reviewed, and
those who will review in the future. A super special thanks to Naito Yasha who gave me a real sweet site to help with the story and a nice index of Japanese to help me along. I appreciates it much ^.^. So I will dedicate this chapter to you, and look forward to further reviews. On to business then right? Right! This story is going to be a very altered universe. Since I’ve only seen the show up to the first encounter with Kouga (I’m pretty sure I have mentioned this, but just to reiterate) so that’s where my knowledge will come from. I hope you wonderful peoples don’t mind. I’m sure ya don’t, so why should I worry? Well in our last exciting episode we saw Inuyasha and the gang told about the impending of…BUU!!! Anyway…quite a heavy load if ya ask me. Inuyasha is also acting rather strange…polite even…what ever could it be? We also got to meet the man who will help save the world. Well sort of, he fainted before we could here him say much…but he doesn’t seem to like cats o.O; Oh and before I forget: “Speech” ‘Thoughts’ //Disembodied voices// Just so we have that clear ^.~ On to the Show!!! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* The group looked back and forth between the half demon and the heap on the floor. The heap was breathing but looked as though he was unconcious. Four sets of eyes focused on the hanyou who was taking a seat against the far wall of Kaede’s hut. He was just about to close his eyes when he felt the eyes boring into him. “WHAT!?” Inuyasha roared, hoping to at least get them to back off. No luck. “Just what did you do to him Inuyasha?” Sango asked as she reached for her boomerang. “Nothing. I was sitting in a tree and I heard someone scream. It came from the well, so I went over there. I saw someone in it, and when I went down inside this guy saw me and passed out. He probably hit his head or something so he may be out for a while.” Inuyasha explained. Sango eased a bit, but kept her hand close to her weapon giving the hanyou a warning glance. “But, why did you bring him here?” Kagome asked. “You heard the lecher” he pointed to Miroku, who sat stoically next to the body. “He has two auras.” “So you assumed he was the guy?” Kagome questioned. “Well he must be. He looks like he’s from your time. Look at his clothes.” Everyone looked at the man. His clothes were definitely out of place in feudal Japan. He had on black work out pants and sneakers. He also had on a sleeveless black top and orange shirt underneath which had short sleeves. He had an unruly head of black hair that stood up at odd angles. He looked very calm in his current state, although it was almost certain he wouldn’t be so calm once he realized what exactly was going on and where he was. “So…ummmm…what exactly do we do now? Do we wake him up and tell him what’s going on?” Kagome inquired out loud, looking for an answer from anyone. “I suggest we wait until he wakes up” Miroku stated as he lay himself down, using his left arm as a pillow. The others agreed and soon everyone was asleep, except for the monk who was watching the man. The auras around him were fascinating, they seemed to be fluctuating as he slept. The weaker one seemed to grow a little brighter but otherwise remained almost hidden by the main one. “Fascinating…” *~*~*~*~*~*~ An inky blackness was surrounding the man. He was sitting down in the middle of a swirling black void. He stood up and tried to move but found he couldn’t. He stared at the void and it soon shifted and began to morph into the scenes of a battle. It all seemed strangely familiar to him although he was it happened in the ancient past. There were people dressed in strange armor that looked kind of like football pads with exaggerated shoulder pads. Those people were fighting humans that looked like they were also part animal. He was very confused, before he could watch much the inky black returned. //Hi// Startled, the man fell back. He didn’t see anyone but he did feel a very powerful presence, but it wasn’t threatening. It seemed to him almost comforting, almost fatherly. “Ummm Hi? Who are you?” //I’m you, well sort of// The voice laughed, nervously. //It’s tough to explain, and I don’t really have much time right now. You’ll be awake soon, and we won’t be able to talk anymore// “Huh?Why?” //Well that’s just how goes I guess. There are only certain times I can contact you.// “Oh. I see” There was silence. Figuring the voice was gone, the man sat down again and watched the void again. It swirled and once again the battle was being fought. This time, however, it seemed to be showing him a first person perspective. He focused on the figure in his field of view. He looked vaguely familiar. He looked a lot like the guy that he saw in the well before he fainted. Something was different, this one had stripes on his cheeks and a crescent on his forehead. The figure moved his mouth, but no sound came out. Then he saw a woman cut in half by the figure’s sword. Suddenly he felt power rising through him and anger. They seemed to mix until there was a pure explosion of rage and energy. Then black. *~*~*~*~*~*~ “Hey, he’s waking up.” A female voice said, she sounded excited. “It’s about dam time!” A gruff male voice called out. “I think maybe we should leave.” A calmer male voice said. “We don’t want to shock him back into unconsciousness.” There was a shuffling of feet and the ruffle of cloth. A brief moment of silence. The his eyes opened letting in a very large of sunlight. “GAH!!” He exclaimed shielding his eyes. “Opps, sorry” The female voice said. She got up and blocked off the window he was under with a blanket. “Where…where am I?” He sat up and focused his eyes. He saw the girl, she was dressed in a school uniform, a white top and green skirt. “I’ll explain in a minute. How do you feel?” “Like shit, to be honest. You must work at the shrine huh? Look I’m sorry for breaking in and stuff, but I couldn’t find a quiet place to meditate and…” “It’s ok. I guess I do work at the shrine…well live there…” “Li…live? Oh God I’m sorry…I didn’t know…you aren’t going to call the cops are you?” The girl laughed. “It’s ok really. I won’t say anything. My name’s Kagome, and you aren’t at the shrine anymore. You’re not even in Tokyo any more… well you are I guess…but not the Tokyo you know.” She laughed uneasily as she looked at the man sitting in utter confusion. “Huh?” “I’ll explain but first…what’s your name?” “Um..Len” He heard someone laugh. it sounded like a small child. This made Kagome a little upset. “I thought you guys were going to go away!” She yelled at the door. She got up and stalked up to the door and yanked it open. Three people fell into the room, a man, woman, and fox. “What the?” Len said as he watched the group mutter apologizes and back out of the room. “Oh them? You’ll meet them in a little while, but first I want you to explain what exactly is happening. This could take a while, so try and get comfy ok?” She smiled and he smiled back an uneasy smile, he wasn’t sure he was going to like what he was about to hear. *~*~*~*~*~*~ “How long to we have to wait out here?” Shippou whined, earning a knock on the head form Inuyasha. “As long as it takes brat.” The hanyou responded as he leaned against the outside of the hut. He could easily hear everything that was going on inside the building, but wasn’t about to let the would be eavesdroppers know. Shippou grumbled and wandered over to Miroku, who was sitting cross legged on the other side of the door of the hut. Sango was taking the moment of peace to bath in the river, she was confident that a certain houshi wasn’t going to follow. “Inuyasha.” Miroku said, after a few minutes of silence. “What is it?” Came the angry reply. “I noticed something about our new friend last night.” “What?” “I was watching him as he slept.” “And? Stop drawing things out and tell me!?” “The dormant aura, and soul I assume, became stronger. I have a feeling that he may have been visited in his dreams last night. He had a very confused look on his face for most of the night. It was very intriguing. I’ve never seen anything like it. I could also feel an incredible power coming from both auras. Do you think he could really be a Saiyin?” Miroku was very excited about the prospect. During his studies he had come upon old youkai text mentioning Saiyins, but mostly as ‘horrible Saiyin monkeys’. The only one the seemed to hold any respect for was an unnamed but very powerful warrior with a noble heart. He was described as fairly tall and powerfully built, at the peak of his power he had long almost gold hair and deep green eyes. When he drew on his full power it was said to shake the Earth itself. “Feh, I don’t know.” There was no further discussion after that, both Inuyasha and Miroku went back to their respective train of thought. Inuyasha’s thought lying mostly how he was going to train someone, when he himself had no real training himself. *~*~*~*~*~*~ A young looking man walked aimlessly through a town, not that far from Inuyasha’s forest. He was short and had a sickly pink color to him. His dress was that of baggy white pants, black boots and a black vest with gold trim. His eyes were a deep black with red pupils, giving him a very evil countenance. He walked about the village firing balls of energy, laying waste to everything. People screamed before they died. Many tried running, but were shot down in their tracks. Only one thing came across the man’s mind. ‘Kill’ Unknown to the townsfolk or the man himself an evil presence was coming towards them. In a flash of gray a man wearing a baboon pelt was crouched in front of the pink man. The pink man felt threatened by the baboon clad man. The power coming him was incredible it radiated around him and the pink man. ‘Kill’ The pink pointed his index finger at the baboon belt. A small pink ball of energy formed at the tip. An insane laugh came from the pink man as he shot the ball of energy at the baboon pelt. ‘Kill’ It hit and the pelt faded away. Satisfied, the man continued walking with no destination. Then he heard it, a low mocking laugh coming from his left. Spinning to that side he shot another ball of energy, but it missed. The laughing continued. ‘Kill’ “Pathetic.” A sinister voice called out. “You are the most powerful being in the universe? Ha!” The mocking was too much and the pink man screamed. A deafining shrill scream that brought the people too their knees, writhing in pain. Another baboon clad man landed in front of him. “Don’t think I don’t know who you are. I know who you are and what you are.” The man said. “You were made to serve me, Majin Buu.” ‘Kill’ Majin Buu grinned an evil, sadistic and insane grin. He raised his right hand and a large orb energy formed inches above it. Flinging at his opponent, Buu laughed. It hit and the man vaporized, or so it seemed. “It’s a pity, so powerful yet so single minded. Let me help you. I can make you stronger.” The man appeared in front of Buu once again, but held out a small piece of glass that was glowing pink. “This will help you harness that power and you will serve me, Naraku.” With a flick of his wrist the shard hit Majin Buu in the chest. He felt a dull throbbing sensation and then felt his mind go blank and his power dull. He stood still, waiting for an order. Naraku grinned under his pelt. “I can’t have you ruing all my fun now can I? *~*~*~*~*~*~ Len sat quietly as Kagome finished the story. He was digesting the vast amount of information that had been laid before him by the young girl. It had taken quite a long time, Len was constantly interrupting her with questions. She didn’t mind it was a very big change. “The only thing I don’t understand,” Kagome began “is how you managed to get through the well.” Len Shrugged his shoulders. “Don’t look at me. There was a cat in the well house, and I went to get it off the edge of the well. It swiped at me and knocked my necklace off.” He pull out the broken chain and showed it to Kagome. “ So I climbed down to get it. When I got to it there was a weird glow. I looked back up to the tope of the well and saw no roof. That’s when your friend jumped in and I fainted.” Kagome looked at the chain, it was an exquisite gold chain with a small gold cross for a pendant. There was nothing odd about it, no jewel shard, as she had originally thought. “It’s beautiful.” She whispered quietly. “Thanks.” “So are you from Tokyo?” “Not originally, but some…circumstances…force me to move on my own.” His eyes flashed with a hint of rage as he spoke. Kagome didn’t press the subject. “Oh.” There was an awkward silence as the two sat looking at each other. Kagome figured he was in his early twenties, he was very well built. She figured he was some kind of athlete or maybe a weight lifter. “So, I’m a Saiyin huh?” The word seemed familiar to him for some reason “My grandfather always told stories about them. He always told them as to me though, never anyone else in my family. It was like he knew something no one else did.” He sighed and stood up. “I’m going to go for a walk, and gather my thoughts. You can introduce me to everyone when I get back.” Kagome nodded as he left the hut. He strode by Inuyasha and Miroku, ignoring their presence completely. The monk began to follow him but was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. “Let him go for now.” Kagome said, removing her hand. “He needs time to think about all of this.” “Right, there is just so much I would like to know. I’ve read about their race many times. I always wanted to meet a real Saiyin. I especially want to study his auras the way they interact is intriguing.” Miroku stated with an enthusiasm usually found in school boys getting ready for recess. “What do you mean?” Miroku explained what he had observed the night before. “Wow. Are they fighting for dominance do you think?” “I thought so at first, but the way the subdued aura moved into the dominant one it didn’t seem as such. It was more of a soft flowing at one point near day break I think they had almost mixed. I’ve never seen anything like that.” “Do you think Kakarot is trying to make contact? Maybe help him with everything that’s going to happen?” “That could be. From what I understand from old human and youkai texts, he was a very gentle soul and strived only to find a fighter of his equal. He abhorred killing and would let many of his opponents live instead of killing them.” “Wow, he sounds like a great guy.” Kagome sighed. “ Do you think it’s right?” “What?” “That we basically destroy his current life, soul, and personality. Just for a fight against one person? It’s pretty close to killing him.” Miroku didn’t have time to answer as Inuyasha jumped up. “Of course. We have no choice.” The hanyou all but yelled “We have no choice in this matter. This is one life to save how knows how many in the long run. This is a minor sacrifice in the long run” Kagome opened her mouth, but didn’t sit him. He had made a valid point, which was rare for the silver haired demi-demon. If what that voice said was true and this Majin Buu was that powerful they didn’t have a choice. She didn’t like it, even though she had just met Len, he didn’t seem like a bad guy. “It’s just…I don’t know.” She looked at Inuyasha, who was giving her an intense look. This situation didn’t seem to sit with him very well either. She could read the indecision in his eyes. Even in his out burst he hadn’t sounded as confident in his statement as he should have, if he truly believed it himself. He lightly grabbed Kagome’s shoulders and looked her in the eyes. “We’ll figure something out…Miroku.” Inuyasha called to the monk without his eyes leaving Kagome’s. “I want you to find all the scrolls you can about the Saiyins and the final battle between them and the youkai. Find everything you can on this Kakarot guy. We need to know what we are dealing with.” Kagome and Miroku were in shock at how Inuyasha was talking. There were no shout or cursing, just calm half request, half orders. “Right, I will travel to as many temples as I can to find this informaton. I’m sure Kilala will take me.” With that Miroku set off to hunt down the fire cat demon. “So…what should we do?” Kagome asked. “We have to make him as comfortable with this as we can. That’s about all we can do at this point.” “Inuyasha?” “What?” “Why have you been acting so strangely lately?” Kagome’s eyes were still locked with his. “To be honest? I don’t know.” Inuyasha answered in the most honest and sincere tone she had ever heard him use in the months they had been together. “I…” He trailed off. “Feh! Forget it.” He let go of her shoulders and leapt off to the top of a tree, leaving Kagome sufficiently confused. “He was so close.” Kagome said a hint of sadness entering her voice. *~*~*~*~*~*~ Morning in Feudal Japan was unlike anything he’d ever experienced. The open feeling was prevalent even in the forest he was currently walking in. The trees were gorgeous and very tall. The sounds of animals going about their own morning routines was very relaxing. The sky was more beautiful then he had ever seen it, it was amazing what a lack of pollution could do. ‘This place isn’t half bad’ He thought to himself as he continued his walk. His mind was already clearing up. He was glad about that, the information he had been told a few minutes early was heavy to say the least. He didn’t know if he liked the idea of holding the soul of some long dead warrior in his body. Although the knowledge of being a Saiyin was exciting to say the least. ‘Too bad I won’t be able to enjoy it’. His mind settled on the single most frightening thing he had been told. He was basically going to die once he surpassed a certain level in terms of fighting ability. That’s how he understood it at any rate. He wasn’t to comfortable with that fact, but he understood the reasons. He wandered a little further down into the woods, where he came upon a clearing with a river nearby. His ears caught the sound of grunts coming from further in the clearing, near the tree line. Somewhere inside of him he could feel a strange power level. Thinking it was trouble he ran in the direction of the power. When he got to where it was radiating from he saw a woman in a black outfit standing in the clearing. Suddenly a giant boomerang came flying at her. Len panicked and ran towards the woman as fast as he could. He made it just in time and pushed her down and grabbed the giant boomerang by it’s strap. He dropped it down and went to help the woman up. “Are you OK?” he asked as he offered his hand to her. She looked up at him with a very surprised look on her face. “How did you catch that?” She asked, ignoring his outstretched hand and getting up herself. “I’ve never seen someone catch it and not have their arm injured severely. Wait, I know you…you are the guy Inuyasha brought in last night.” “Yeah, I guess I am. So that’s his name huh? Anyway, as to how I caught that massive thing. I just caught it. It’s quite heavy actually, but pretty easy to catch. Who threw it?” “I did, it’s mine. I was training.” Len blushed real quick at his mistake. “I’m sorry, I had no idea. I thought someone had attacked you and, well, I didn’t want to see you get crushed by that thing. So I just reacted. I’m really sorry.” “It’s ok.” The woman laughed a little at the man’s sincerity and how he seemed like a small boy while he was apologizing. “My name is Sango. What’s yours?” “Len” “Well Len, let’s go back to the village. We don’t want anyone thinking you got eaten by a giant bear youkai now do we?” Len balked at Sango’s last sentence, but qucikly got control of himself. “No, I guess not.” *~*~*~*~*~*~ Naraku sat in his castle very pleased with himself. He knew he had in front of him. He had heard the entire conversation between the miserable half demon and his band with that voice from another realm. Now that Majin Buu was under his control there was no one that could stop him in his quest to complete the Shikon no Tama. Majin Buu stood in front of his master with a blank look on his face. He was watching his “master” with an incredible intensity beneath the dull and apathetic look he was wearing. Naraku had no idea how calculating Buu could be no matter how outwardly insane he appeared to be. He wasn’t at his full power right now, it would take a little time to get it all back. He could barely absorb anything into his beaing in his current condition. Of course Naraku knew nothing of this time. “I have many things I want you to do Majin Buu.” But not now, we will wait until Inuyasha is vunerable.” Naraku laughed. Majin Buu was sickened inside. So single minded in his life, why kill just one small group of people when there were so many to kill. Of course on the other hand ruling an entire world was sounding very appealing to Buu. Of course he knew there were many other people that would get in his way. He didn’t care though. Killing was fun. *~*~*~*~*~*~ The sun was at its apex in the sky as Len and Sango entered the village. Len saw Kagome standing under a tree just outside the hut. He wasn’t sure but it looked like she was talking to the tree. The pair continued towards the hut and soon found Kagome was indeed talking to a tree. “You know it wouldn’t hurt to open up and talk once in a while.” She said to the tree. Naturally the tree didn’t respond. Len walked up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder. “Ummm…do you know you are talking to a tree?” He said, his face the picture of confusion. “Actually I’m trying to get one of the more stubborn members of our group to get down here and talk to me.” “Oh” “Well it doesn’t look like he’ll be down any time soon. Oh, I see you’ve met Sango.” Kagome smiled and the three walked over to the hut and sat down just outside of the building. “Kagome?” Sango asked “Where’s Miroku?” “Inuyasha sent him off to find some information. Anything he could find about Saiyins and some other stuff. You missed it, he was a giddy as a school boy at the prospect of meeting a real Saiyin.” Sango let out a giggle. It was hard to imagine Miroku being anything other than calm or a delinquent Monk with wandering hands. “I still don’t see what’s so special about him” A new voice entered the conversation. “He doesn’t look like much.” Inuyasaha looked Len over. “I bet he can’t even fight.” He was back to his charming self. “Inuyasha, be polite.” “Feh, why? I don’t think I would want to leave my life in his hands.” Inuyasha continued to rant until Kagome had enough of it. “Inuyasha?” “What wench?” “SIT!!” *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Well another rather long chapter up and running. I know this story may seem a bit slow, but hopefully it will pick…well I know it will. I just want to establish a few things first. In the first author’s notes I had set about when this story is taking place, but being that this is A/U…I may decide to trash that idea and use all sorts of information gathered from my net surfing. I apologize again for any OOC’ness. I want to expand and tweak the characters a little. You may notice Majin Buu acting much different than he did in DBZ, but there will be a reason for that. I promise. |
