Some of you may be wondering...

why blogging has been so light lately.

Well, it has to do with a rarely-mentioned topic on this blog: real life. I just started a new job, and things have been pretty hectic.

That's my excuse, anyway. The truth is, the only news I can bear to watch these days is the faux-news of the Stewart and Colbert variety. I've been getting headaches again when I try to watch anything else, so it's time for a breather.

If you are intent on getting the blood pressure to skyrocket, however, I suggest checking out the links in the blogroll on the lefthand side of this page. Meanwhile, I'm still around and posting, but expect things to be spotty for a bit until I get back on track. Thanks for your understanding.

Another year, another hockey season

The season kicks off tonight, and I'm very excited to see some good hockey this year. There are a lot of rising young stars and, once again, the race in both conferences is wide open.

As much as I want to be optimistic about my Habs, I realistically don't believe that this is our year; we're still way too much in a rebuilding phase. While I'll save my real predicting for my fantasy hockey league, I think Buffalo looks good in the East, while San Jose and Calgary should be very competitive in the West. Seasons usually hinge on skaters and playoffs usually hinge on goalies, anyway, so it will be interesting to see how things play out.

Long live the greatest game on ice!

Gainey's on crack

That's the only explanation I can come up with for why he would trade Ribeiro for Niinimaa. They're probably laughing their cowboy hats off down in Dallas over this one.
