Jeffrey Bornstein is a descendant of Icek Mendel BORNSZTAJN, born 1865 in Belchatow, Poland. The BORNSZTAJN family originated in Belchatow and extended to Lodz, Poland. Symcha BORNSZTAJN and Icek BORNSZTAJN lived in Belchatow and were brothers. Their sons, Icek Mendel (Max) and Pinkus Mendel moved to the Baluty area of Lodz around the turn of the century. Pinkus Mendel BORNSZTAJN died 1918 in Lodz. Icek Mendel (Max) BORNSZTAJN immigrated to Paterson, New Jersey, from Lodz with his wife, Hinda, and their seven children between 1906 and 1910. Two more children were born in Paterson. At least two of their children eventually settled in Montreal, Canada. |
