Traveling down Ms.44, this road gave up more and more stuff. It is not one one of the "old roads" but may be in spots. The old mill dealing in plain cornmeal and grits hinted at an old industry in these hills. I would think that it was the owner/operator's cabin adjoining the mill. Check out that contraption to the right of the red building.
Had the mill moved into the 21st century?
Next was the Improve area. The Improve Church was almost all I saw there.
The Improve Baptist Church was huge. It is dwarfed by some newer churches I have seen roaming these hills. These churches are not hollow shells. Their size reflects their attendees.
Politicians would be wise to consider these people and their values.
I had turned around to return to the Improve Church. On the way back up the hill from the creek, I saw the little cemetery. I got the church shot and returned.
The little cemetery displayed no affiliation with the large church.  It may have been connected to a previous smaller version of that church or another.
These little cemeteries are everywhere. It is getting automatic for me to envision the scene below. Those blood soaked red flags mark the cemeteries as holding national heroes. Soldiers of a "Lost Cause" that took place 150 years ago are given more respect than some our national leaders and celebrities  give the soldiers of today that are fighting for our lives.
Politicians would be wise to consider these people and their values.
If they don't, we may be the next Lost Cause.
I'll let you look around and put together what you see.
Next to the cemetery was this building. I approached it to see if I could enter. I heard noises coming from inside and decided that maybe the wise choice was to just leave this one alone. It may have been the old church with new attendees, or old ones.
I crossed the highway and went down this logging cut. There I took a break and downed the usual gourmet lunch. Those who have been here a while know the menu.
