44 dropped like a rock into the Pearl River Valley, east of Columbia.
I passed this old building and guessed it to have been a honkytonk. But, that's me. There are all kinds of possibilities. It didn't have a sign. Your guess is probably better than mine. Fagan probably knows. Shish!
I gracefully bypassed Columbia and headed across the Pearl on US 98. Then I took the next road south that went up and up and gave me that Rocky Mtn. High all over again.
Are you getting a virtual nose bleed?
I had found Old 24 again and was crossing the drainage going west.
It was getting late and I decided to turn it south through the maze of roads that lead into Louisiana. I took the Dexter Road to La.424 Route down. That's a good one. It eventually leads into the Thomas-Pine-Choctaw Rd. route. More good stuff.
I had to say, "No thanks". I'd ridden enough this Friday. Enough bull is enough. And, this is enough of this one. Now the remorse hits me again for the lost ride. This one was a poor intro for what a great ride the next one would be. That's no bull. Oh, well. Later.
This ride and the next would cover 575 miles of beautiful Mississippi. Fort Adams is Lost Mississippi at its best. Wow. I will get back and revisit that place.
