Dave is an authority on this part of La. as well as being an authority on SW.La. and on the Delta of Mississippi, to a degree. Here he adds his experience with Slaughter: "Hey, I recognise those Slaughter pics. That grain elevator was part of the Tri-Parish Co-Op, a large farm supply outfit when I was around there. I bought most of my feed-n-seed-n-fertilizer-n-etc. there and stored a lot of corn and soybeans in that very grain elevator. I guess the whole place is shut down now". That just makes it come alive.
