La.445 hits La.16 which I took west. Right after Amite, which is a great destination, I took new to me road, La.1045, which is one very fine stretch of road surface. I was cooking again. It crosses many rivers which is the prescription for diving descents and  radical climbs in Southeast La. Maybe I should  dial that back a little and just say it's hilly. Besides all the great scenery and riding excelence..........
..........historical old structures abound. (I've never used "abound" before)
I think that this one is another example of "store / residence" architecture. They are disappearing as the concept of living where you work has become out of favor.
La.1045 comes to a stop sign. Go across the road and continue straight.
At the next stop sign, go right.
At the next stop sign, go right.
At the next stop sign, go left and you are on La.37.
If coming from the west, reverse the above instructions.
Remember, you are headed to Amite. Great train station there.
.
When you get to Granger, go south.
Make your way to Slaughter. Bluff Creek is on that route. Get a good map.
Old or not, it doesn't matter. I will tell you that you are in a very old part of Louisiana. I would guess that this church was built anywhere from 1850 to 1880.
