Life,
A long journey.
Through unfamiliar territory,
Full of tangled and twisted paths,
Pitfalls and diversions,
Truly the greatest journey,
The hardest journey,
The one most worth your struggles.
* * *
Spinning silently in space,
Living all our lives,
Small and insignificant,
To all but ourselves,
Living,
Loving,
Poetry,
War,
Art,
All so important,
All so much a part of us,
All we really need,
But still,
Always,
Always keep reaching for the stars.
* * *
Flying through space,
Till one day,
Caught in the gravity of the situation,
I start to glance across the sky,
Burning bright,
Turning darkness into light,
As the friction rips me apart,
Burning bright,
Lighting up your nights,
Until finally,
I am all burnt out.
But I went out in a great fire,
One that lit up your life,
While others just float,
Alone,
Forever in space.
* * *
Even as I am torn to pieces,
Still some do survive,
The long fall to earth,
Often unseen or forgotten,
But always there,
Always a piece of you.
Always all I had to offer,
Will you accept it?
Will it be your treasure?
* * *
What now become of old friends?
Ties long lost,
Long forgotten,
Still they entangle your life,
Some holding it together,
Some causing you to stumble and fall.
Which shall you try to cut?
Which will be mended and held high?
What will be your choice?
What will be your choice...?
* * *
Lying out on star lit fields,
The soft glow of the moon above,
Our view of each softened as a result.
The curves of her face,
The marks of life,
All are softened,
As I hold her close.
The stars slowly move overhead,
Doing their astral dance,
As we safely spin on our own pin prick of light,
And wonder .
* * *
All those yesterdays,
All our lives left behind,
All our greatest moments,
All our greatest sadness,
All our past,
And we wonder,
What does the future hold?
What new will come?
And what will come again?
And will it be better?
Or worse?
Or the same?
Live,
And find your own answer.
* * *
Old flames,
Once provided the heat needed for life,
Now burn too bright.
Out of control.
Consuming your flesh,
Eating you alive,
For you left it unattended.
You were stupid.
Let it drift from your mind.
And now the scars will never fade.
* * *
My headaches,
And my heartbreaks,
What I had in it,
Has broken free,
And rebelled against me.
For what reason,
I do not know?
For now what reason,
Is there left for me to go?
* * *
A long journey,
Many miles left to go,
Many dark and ominous paths,
Many treacherous mountains to climb,
What would be worth all this?
What could warrant such a risk?
Love.
For what is life?
Without risk,
And Love.
