The Long Dark Hallway
Each day we walk down the path,
An old dark hallway,
Doors aligned neatly on both sides,
Some are well kept and new,
While others appear older and darker,
On these doors no light falls,
They even seem to drain light from their surroundings,
There are many of these,
For these are the wrong doors of life,
The evils that men can do,
Enter here and give yourself up.
Enter a world of pain and suffering.
Not necessarily for you, for you may turn to be the one causing it,
For so is the nature of evil,
It corrupts all.
And for this reason I am careful,
I stop at a door bright and well kept,
And I look,
As I reach to turn the knob and enter,
I sense something,
I still my hand, mere millimeters from the knob,
And then I see it,
The darkness that lies within,
For evil will always reveal it's self if one looks with more then eyes,
For evil this passage way is,
Evil has gotten to its core and gnaws at what once was good,
And entices those not weary to a life of pain.
