This is a copy of an article written about me in Latrobe's High Post
newspaper. I am flattered that they thought I was worth the space I took up. Now
onto the article.

Artist's Corner
by
Chloe Capote
Some students play sports. Some devote many hours studying
and excelling in their AP courses. Others are social butterflies. Then there are
those who write. As poets, playwrights, and authors, many talented students are
enveloped in the shadows behind the brilliant shine of the more obvious, more
athletic stars. One of these undiscovered writers is Ross Pollock. When examples
were requested, Pollock zealously opened his laptop and shared his organized
collection of poems.
Various themes of love, both unrequited and mutual, along
with the more jaded themes of anger and angst are illustrated through out his
work. This ability to create poems fueled by such a broad spectrum of emotions
makes Pollock a poet of many moods.
"I'm inspired by life, love, pain, hope, and the fact
that I still believe that mankind and the human race is inherently good, despite
the evil it's capable of."
Pollock had no trouble selecting which poem he wanted featured.
"I think 'Sandstorm,' expresses an aspect of an
individual's personality that depicts how much one is willing to give for
love," he reflected.
In some of his other poetry, Pollock gives hope to the poet
suffering from writers' block.
"Not everything has to be humorous or serious, but just like in the real
world, things can just be."
