Well what can I say about these days?
All that has changed,
The stars at night even look different,
I sit on the back of my car and listen to the songs that remind me of you,
I lean back and close my eyes,
Still able to see the beautiful scenery around me,
Able to appreciate all the openness,
The scent of a warm night,
With the rain just moments away,
I tilt my head just a bit more backwards,
As it encounters a soft place to rest,
A place where I can once again relax,
Where I feel at home,
Away from all of these troubles I have so recently gotten myself into,
Since you've gone,
And I open my eyes slowly,
Looking up I see your face survey the surroundings,
And then you look down onto me,
And put your head on my shoulder,
As I close my eyes again,
And we listen,
To the music,
To the wind,
The world,
The way things are,
To each other,
And to the voice of reason that we each had feared we had lost,
And finally without saying anything,
We know. |
