Anybody Out There?

As I drive on down this road,
Watching the snow fall,
Watching it melt on my windshield,
Sensing the changes that are occurring,
The wind is chill,
The leaves are gone from the trees,
Now nothing more then a multicolored road hazard,
The first snow I see this year,
Knowing all the changes that will soon come,
I know it will get colder still,
Till my bones are stiff from the cold,
The wind will increase,
I have seen it all before,
I have watched these snowy winds bend even the oldest and strongest trees,
I have seen them fall crashing to the ground.

In the end it really makes no difference,
For there has always been a fire for me to warm myself by,
And now there is even more comfort in the thought of this fire,
For there is something else for me to look forward to,

The feeling and warmth of being in your arms,
And I know the glow of your smile will be brighter then any fire man could ever make,

That is except for the fire of the heart between a man and a woman.
