Alexander opened his eyes slowly and gazed around. All that he could see at first was a soft white haze; it had a dreamy quality to it and it was slow to fade. Looking around some more, he detected glints of shiny metal and a table beside him. It was then that he realized that he was strapped down to a chair. It reminded him of a dentist chair. This realization cleared up a second concern of his, which was the odd antiseptic smell that was permeating the air. Just then a hazy figure of a doctor walked from outside of his vision and over to him.

"Welcome Alex," The doctor said, "we are glad you could join us..."

Alex tried to remember why he was at the doctor's office in the first place, but couldn't. Just then he felt a pinch in his arm and his eyes shut.

When his eyes reopened he was out in a field, as he looked around he saw his good friend, Inner Storm, and approached him.

"Welcome friend," Inner Storm said as Alex approached, but it was not Alex, it was Walks-Two-Paths. That was his name. This was where he belonged. He was a protector of earth, of Gaia. He blinked and thought back a moment, remembering the dream he had just had, he shivered. He Hated doctors, always had. He tried to shake the uneasiness from himself.

"You OK?" asked Inner Storm, sensing his friends feelings. "You look like you didn't get much sleep last night..."

    "I think I am alright," said Alex, " I just didn't sleep well...some weird dream about a doctor's office."

"Interesting, You want to talk about it?" asked Inner Storm.

"No, I think I shall be fine...Let's just go to see the others now..." oh yes the others thought Alex, his friends, his pack mates, they were his life, and all of their lives were for Gaia. They all fought the struggle against evil, to save her. This thought comforted him.

"Wake Up!" the voice shouted for a second, or was it a third time. "Tell us what you are." Alex tried to focus on the source of the voice but failed, his vision was blurred and he couldn't move. "Mr. Jones, the only way we can help you is if you tell us what is wrong."

"Ugh" was all Alex could say, or was it Walks-Two-Paths, wait no that was just a dream, he thought. He tried to speak again and failed.

"Get the Z-57, We need to get started on him," said the blur that seemed to have resolved itself into the shape of a doctor. "Mr. Jones, we know what you are, we know all about you. Why don't you just help us help you."

"What are you talking about?" Alex managed to say.

"We know what you are. Just help us; tell us where the rest of your friends are...Lets start with..." He looked at his clip board, "Inner Storm, we heard you mumble his name..."

"What are you talking about?" Alex was confused, this was real, but how did this man know about his dreams, what was going on?

"He's not cooperating, give me the Z-57." said the doctor.

Alex felt a new pain in his arm, something was being inserted into it through his skin, he screamed, but then remembered no more.

He awoke later, he seemed to be in an empty room, still strapped down to his chair, and he looked around. Just out of his vision range stood what appeared to be a table, something was on it. As his vision cleared he started to discern detail. It was then that he realized what was going on. His heart froze. It was a man's body on the table. It was Inner Storm, his friend. He knew now what was going on and where he was. This was DNA Inc., He had been captured apparently. He knew what he was. He knew why he was here. They were going to rip him apart. Try to find out what made him different. Just then a door opened. The doctor was back, with a rolling table.

"Awake I see, this should be more interesting." Said the doctor, raising a scalpel from the tray. As the knife cut into his gut, Walks-Two-Paths screamed, This was how he was going to die, all this to protect Gaia.
