Information about the Tempests

1) The Sect's:
Each Sect has a Sage (leader) and Apprentice (second in command), a magical
gift and a fighting skill which is learned once the member has joined. For more
information look at the Sect's page
Sect of the Emperor:
Layla and Hakeem, the originals are the Sages of this Sect, meaning that they
are the Leaders of the entire Clan. The members of this Sect are also the Sages
of the other Sects and their families. They also make up the Council. This is
the only Sect that does not accept new members.
2) Powers:
Each Tempest has the mind powers of a vampire, the ability to shift into only
two forms, a bird and an animal, and the control of only one element.
Mythical creatures cannot be chosen as either form that a Tempest can shift
into.
A magical gift and fighting skill is learned when a Tempest joins their Sect.
3) Council:
The Council is made up of the Sages of each Sect, their family is not apart of
the council and neither are the Apprentices.
4) Symbol:
The symbol for a Tempest is the black violet, which some members may wear as an
object or tattoo.
5) Weakness:
Copper is the only thing that can harm/kill a Tempest.

7) Kisses of Lethe:
Kisses of Lethe is the group of Hunters led by Micha Sciantio. These Hunters
are of all Night World species with one common goal - the destruction of Clan
Tempests.

8) Originals:
Layla and Hakeem are the original Tempests.
9) Relation to the Night World:
The Tempests are a part of the Night World, but do not abide by their laws.
They keep themselves apart from the Night World, only serving as a part of them
due to their species and hate for humans.
Clan Tempests are not allied with either of the witch circles: Circle Midnight
and Circle Twilight, nor the Night World council nor Circle Daybreak. They stay
out of the oncoming Millennium battle, not taking sides.
There are only a few Night World members of which Clan Tempest actually have
contact with.
10) Families:
All Tempests can have children unlike made vampires who cannot. The children
themselves can stop aging when they wish to, so can reincarnated Tempests. It
is only made Tempests that cannot and must remain the age they were when they
were changed.
Each child usually has the same animal or bird as one of their parents. This is
the only time in which a member can have the same animal or bird which has
already been chosen.
Becoming a born Tempest means that you either have a actual members as your
parents or your parents are dead, which means that they will be NPC's unless
someone wants to play them.
11) Night World Members becoming Tempests:
It is possible for a member of the Night World, whether born or made, to become
a Tempest. At the moment there is no Tempest that was a Night Worlder before
they were changed.
The only Night World members we do not accept are those who are from the
original L.J.Smith books. This is because there are too many other aspects
involved. It is much easier to make up your own character. Do not hesitate to
email us if you need help.
12) Soulmates:
The Soulmate Principle also affects Tempests, as it does humans and Night
Worlders.
13) Members that are away
Members who are away for various reasons are somtimes refered to as NPC's,
although an NPC is a non-playable character. Any movement of their characters
is considered a power-play and should be approved by the player or one of the
leaders. Please do not choose any of the members that are away to be your sire
or soulmate if you are in the process of joining this RPG.
14) Siring
A Tempest is made (sired) the same way as a vampire, blood exchange.
Tempests always sire someone if they have a good reason. e.g. the person is
dying. Unlike vampires, they do not Sire just because they like the look of a
member of the opposite sex. The reason does not always have to be that the
character was dying, it can be anything from their skills to them having given
up on life.
15) Tempest Names
The Name of a Tempest does relate to the member's personality, animal/bired
choice or birthplace etc.
Old Members need not change their names but new members from October 2001 must
have a name which relates to their character.
