New Album Rumors
A recent post on the Discuss The Fuss message board on skunk.com has mentioned the release date, title, and first single for the upcoming Long Beach Dub Allstars album. While the post was written by a person who labeled themselves "Skunk Records" it is still unclear whether or not this is real. When it is confirmed the new album page will be updated with all necessary information.

ByteCenter Coming Back...
Well, it seems that bytecenter will be coming back online soon. As far as the Skunk boards, it's still uncertain.

Sublime! Get Ya Sublime Hea!
For those of you who are not technologically advanced, and do not have the patience for going through either the FTPs or Hotline to get your Sublime material, check out http://tvr43.dhs.org/sublime/. It's set up on a T3 connection, and has damn near everything. It may not be up all the time, and will most probably only be temporary, so get it while the going's good.

STP & Sublime Hood Updates
It seems that eFront, the web service company that hosts two of the message boards at skunk.com, has been shut down for good. There apparantly has been a disagreement with their hosting company, Space4Rent. The following message was left up on the two forums:

ByteCenter Members (and visitors),

With all the things currently going on a eFront, our parent host. We were dumped without a host do to the high demands on CPU and Memory that our site presents. eFront was finding us a solution but we also decieded to walk away at to our own servers...

For a temparary solution I *(James Reno)* am putting up this page to inform you of everything thats been going on if you are unaware of whats going on please visit the following links to CNET News,

* eFront Sites Givin 2 days to relocate...
* ICQ logs spark corporate nightmare...

Please Make Note: we are currently setting up a Hosting Solution for ByteCenter and we hope to have ByteCenter Back online shortly. :(

We would just like to comment that we do have a backup of the member data and hope to get it back online soon.

ByteCenter Administrators,
James Reno
Andy Brezinsky

Sublime Archive News
This is old news, but I'll post it anyway: Ras Bill has put the soon-to-be new skunk.com Sublime section up at rightback.8m.net. Click here to check it out.

The STP and Sublime Hood message boards at skunk.com are not operational at this time. The last time they went down, it was for a few weeks. Hopefully, this time won't last as long.

The Sublime Archive, which has been down for a little over a month now is supposedly being resurrected, only this time it will take the form of the official skunk.com Sublime page. Ras Bill, the Archive webmaster has reported that he will take over the official Skunk Sublime page and will use their server space for many of the MP3's that were formerly located on his old site.

Also, this is very old news, but reportable nonetheless. The first official book on the Sublime story has been released. "Crazy Fool: Portrait of a Punk" is now available on sublimedirect.com and will soon be available in bookstores.

The Sublime Archive - R.I.P.
This is old news, but reportable nonetheless: the wonderful Sublime Archive, or Dopewars, run by Ras Bill has been permanently shut down due to server problems. Unfortunately, you can no longer get rare Sublime MP3's there. Instead, try the various FTPs that are around. I will post FTP info soon, but until then, check out the skunk.com message boards to get the FTP information you need.

Ras Bill, of The Sublime Archive reported on the skunk.com STP that the server problems that the Archive has been experiencing may be permanent, and it may be shut down. Hopefully not, but it's a possiblity. Click here to read the post.

A news release on cdnow.com reported news from the recording sessions of the new LBDA album with producer Paul Leary. Apparently, there was a fire in the bathroom of the studio, which was a good sign to Leary, who reported that practically the same thing happened during the recording sessions for Sublime's 1996 self-titled album.
