Getting that feeling? Here are some (other) ways to help take your mind off the pain. Hopefully you'll find something that works well for you.

       Squeeze an ice cube
       Exercise (
editor's note :: exercise releases endorphins, so does SI )
       Take a walk
       Listen to music (
editor's note :: no sad stuff )
       Cry (
editor's note :: if you can, Lord knows there's been times when you can't )
       Clean or do homework
       Take a bubble bath
       Read a book/magazine
       Go shopping (
editor's note :: come on, whether you're in denial of it or not, shopping DOES cheer us up!! )
       Watch a movie (
editor's note :: no sad stuff )
       Draw, paint, play an instrument (
editor's note :: for all you amazing artists out there - kudos, but I'm not so talented in those areas and it ends up just frustrating the ish out of me! whatever works though ;o) )
       Call a friend (
editor's note :: thanks to the one person that's always there for me, I love you! )
       Take a cold shower
       Read something good someone has written about//to you (a letter, card, letter of recommendation)
       Write in a journal (
editor's note :: I must have like a million poems//thoughts in my journal )
       Draw on yourself with a red marker (
editor's note :: washable, kay you guys? no sharpies )
       Go online and read about stuff that interests you (
editor's note :: once again, no sad stuff )
       Play a computer game (
editor's note :: Solitare, SimCity, you know the deal :o) )

If you have any distractions that are helpful to you, are not listed above, and you would like to add, please
email me and I'll post them to the page.
