| Farayne knew Trish was right. She didn't care. Most humans could only hope for, at the very most, even if they had married very young, eighty years with their mates. She had spent one hundred years with her lover, before his demise. That was enough for her. She was thankful for the time she had with him and counted herself lucky. It would be closing time soon. "I am off Farayne. I'll see you tonight!" Farayne smiled. "I'll see you tonight Trish." Farayne locked up the club. She really was tired. Trish, though undead like her, had only been turned seventy five years ago. She was a mere child. What could she possibly know, what could she possibly understand about how life had been for she and her Garrison? "Garrison, Garrison," she whispered as she turned to the east. The sky was becoming lighter. She didn't have much time. Her home was secluded. It had taken her quite a while to find the perfect piece of property, the perfect setting. She had a beautiful little cottage, built after her beloved witch, Aggie's cottage. She clutched the ancient talisman that her best friend, her only friend, had given her upon her wedding day. She looked up and smiled. She thought she might miss this life but she knew she really wouldn't. Trish would enjoy owning the club and Farayne knew the vivacious vampire, who had completely embraced her free lifestyle, and "lived" each night to the fullest; would find someone to buy her home, someone who would appreciate all she had done. She fingered the envelope, containing her Will and the deed to the club. She watched the sky turn from black to pale orange. Farayne sat in her back yard; by her "fairy" fountain, surrounded by her beloved rose garden. She was wearing the beautiful "gypsy" dress she had recently found while out thrift shopping. Trish always scolded her for buying second hand clothes, when she could afford the best that any fine shopping excursion in New York City, could offer. The sky became lighter. It was merely warm at first. She had missed that after being turned, the warm sun on her face, as she explored the countryside of her home. Homethat was something she had almost mercifully forgotten. She had never felt at home in her father's house. She had found a haven in Orlando, but her home would always be with her love. She smiled again as her skin began to smoke. She closed her eyes. "I'm coming my love. I'll be with you soon THE END |
