"This had to be the worst part about being a doctor, when it is someone that you know, care about, love. To see them lying in front of you, to understand what is written in the chart, what the monitors mean. I don’t have the luxury of ignorance, of being told, in simple terms, that you are in a coma and accepting it as I know nothing about medicine.
I sit here, knowing what is wrong with you, yet not being able to fix it.
Remember that time after Cassie had crashed on her bike and you fixed the bike whilst I sorted out her, and you told me that you had no problem fixing anything mechanical or technical, but you had no idea how I managed to sort out people?
I guess you were wrong.
I couldn’t help you, well I helped to save your life but I couldn’t wake you up. I guess that means it’s up to you Sam to wake up on your own.
Cassie misses you, it’s not the same without you, and the house is so quiet. I actually had to call the plumber out the other day.
I miss you so much Sam, and I need you to wake up for me, please. I love you."
