Our garden house is situated on the spot where our run down garage used to be. It is approximately 12' x 12' and 10' high at the peak. Although the roof is almost all plate glass, has a 6' wide patio door and there is glass on every side of the garden house, it is much more than a greenhouse. It really is a refuge. It's finished inside and out with rough hewn lumber, board and baton style. It has a painted concrete floor that is easy to clean up after a day's gardening mess. It's also wired, although unheated except for a kerosun heater that we crank up on those fall and spring evenings when we want to sit out. Next year we intend to have a water supply hooked up to allow for easier watering.

Two wicker chairs and a table are hidden away among the foliage and flowers inside the garden house. Lots of room to settle in and relax after a days work at the office or in the garden.

To the right of the chair, under the working planting shelf, out of sight in this photo, is the dog's corner. We had to leave a space for him complete with a mat so he could curl up out of the way when we were working in the garden house.
