Women in War
For the first time ever women were allowed to enlist . Most of the jobs that were available for women were  driving  and fixing  trucks. Many women that wanted to be accepted in the military requests were ignored. I learned that the  trades for women grew from 11 to 50  trades like mechanics , fitters and welders and also 30% of workers in the aircraft plants were women .  Even with all this manual work women were still paid less then men. When the men came back their was more money in the bank then any other time which showed how successful the women were.

WAR TECHNOLOGY:
War technology was one of the most important aspects of the Second World War. During the 6 years of war, amazing advances were made in the fields of science and technology. Having learned valuable lessons from the First World War, each nation put in millions of dollars for the advancement and production of technology. Technology was of primary importance to each country because they felt it would decide who would win the war.The advances made were used in every applicable military operations, to test their effectiveness and maybe win a quick victory. From the very beginning, technology played a major role. Radar was first tested in the Battle of Britain and was the major reason that the Blitz came to an early end. Also, new fighter planes were made throughout the war, each faster, stronger and lighter than the other. Depth charges allowed a solution to the dirty menace of the U-boats.Guns, tanks and ammunition were continuously improved. On August 6th, 1945, the world's feeling that technology would win the war, proved true in a horrible display. The first atomic bomb had been dropped on Hiroshima causing massive destruction in the days, weeks and years to come. However, in many ways the development of war technology proved also to be a major stepping stone for the advances that were to be made in future years.
I now understand the major role that technology played in the development of the war and its evolution throughout those years. Also, this topic explains many future quarrels in the world. Researching war technology also made me understand the effects it had on people around the world, since many people losttheir lives to technology, while others helped in its development and still others were grateful for its presence, as it kept them alive and stronger than the enemy. It played a major part in the way military operations were carried out. Also, I feel that technology also left many people feeling vulnerable at times and with the dawn of a whole new nuclear era, many people probablt felt at risk and began questioning the morality of what was done at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Also, it has made me understand a number of different issues in the world today and their justifications.
