Rigs and Bits
This is our smallest section and we are looking for the rigs and bits that you find best. Please email us with what you think of what you use

RIGS

Personally my favourite rig is the simple pop-up rig which includes Solar Rock Foam discs and Kryston heavy metal acting as a weight. I find that this rig works best with a boilie chopped in half and turned the other way. Turning the boilie round gives the carp a different style of bait, this means that the carp are more likely to take this style of boilie rather than a conventional style.
Another rig setup that I use is to use the 48inch black Nashy lead core with 2-3 inches of flurocarbon line (ESP Ghost, 12 or 15lb) from the hook. This gives a hidden approach to your setup. For this style of rig you will need to buy or construct a pop-up rig. This may not work with every water, it works best in silty waters where I normally fish.

BITS

Some small bits that I find best are the simple ones, for example using bait bands, this means that the carp don't feel the weight of the rig and lead straight away, so then the carp will think the bait (at first) is a freebie until the bait band gets to its full extension.

Super Nova is one of my favourite braids I use this is because it gives excellent camoflage. It is a strong braid which doesn't affect the presentation of the rig. I have to say that I have total confidence in it, it knots brilliantly, its
super smooth and is strong and reliable as any hook link.
