TEASER
FADE IN:
INT. ROOM
Laden with debris, fragments of blackened metal.
A foot crunched through the wreckage, until it strikes something more substantial.
A hand reaches down, and picks up a plaque of some description. Shaking the pieces of debris off it, we see the words UEO EXCALIBUR ASV 7100 on it.
The camera pans up to reveal it is Warren picking the plaque up.
We zoom out to show he is on the
BRIDGE
Still showing the incredible damage done in the last episode. The bridge is fully illuminated now, with arc lights set up around it. There is an eerie feel about it. Only a few technicians are around, checking the damage. Warren lifts the plaque up, and looks around for where it goes.
WARREN
(V.O.)
Captains Log, April 26th, 2040.
Warren goes over to the plaques proper location, and sets it back into place.
WARREN
With the Excalibur now firmly entrenched in drydock, and the extensive repairs underway, I have granted all personnel a few days shore leave, to rest and recover.
Warren leaves the bridge in the capable hands of the technicians.
WARREN
I intend to take full advantage of the opportunity, and I hope the rest of the crew will too.
WARRENS QUARTERS
Warren is packing away a few things to take off the ship. He picks up a picture of the Excalibur command crew, taken at the ships commissioning, and looks at it. He smiles, and puts the picture in the duffel.
There is a knock at the door. Warren turns to face it.
WARREN
Come in.
Taylor walks in, already in civvies.
WARREN
Hey.
She smiles.
TAYLOR
You ready?
Warren indicates the almost-packed duffel.
WARREN
Just about.
TAYLOR
Here, let me. You'll be here forever.
Taylor starts to help him pack.
TAYLOR
Mike
Warren looks over at her.
WARREN
Yeah?
Taylor turns to face him.
TAYLOR
I think we need to talk.
WARREN
(distracted)
About what?
TAYLOR
About us.
Before Taylor can continue, there is a knock at the door. Warren sighs, and turns back to it.
WARREN
Come in.
Stamp walks in, carrying a duffel, and an EXPOC.
STAMP
Mike, take a look at these.
He hands Warren the EXPOC.
STAMP
Its the reactor stress indicators from the Axis Colony battle.
Warren looks at it, then at Stamp.
WARREN
These are accurate?
Stamp nods.
STAMP
Down to the micro Newton.
Warren shakes his head.
WARREN
Damn. Better check these out.
(to Taylor)
Well talk later, Trish.
The two men hurry out. Taylor watches them, sighs.
TAYLOR
Later.
She carries on packing Warrens duffel.
Off this

ACT ONE
EXT. EXCALIBUR DRYDOCK
A vast construction area. The Excalibur is docked at the largest drydock in the system. Beside her, we can see another seaWolf-class vessel under construction, and several smaller vessels under repair.
INT. BRIDGE
The command crew stands around the command console, where Warren and a female captain stand.
Warren activates the com-link.
WARREN
Attention, all hands. As of now, 1400 hours, I transfer command of the Excalibur to Captain Jacqueline Hawkins, Commander, Pearl Harbour Drydock.
Warren takes the Excalibur arming key from around his neck, inserts it into the command console, and turns it.
WARREN
Computer, transfer command codes and protocols to Captain Hawkins. Authorisation: Warren alpha 25 delta.
COMPUTER
Command codes transferred.
Hawkins takes the key from the slot.
HAWKINS
I relieve you, Captain.
Warren smiles and nods.
WARREN
I stand relieved.
They shake hands.
WARREN
Jackie, shes all yours.
HAWKINS
As it should be.
The group begins to disperse, talking amongst themselves. Barratt goes over to Hawkins.
BARRATT
Captain, its good to see you again. Finally got that fourth stripe, huh?
Hawkins nods, pointing to the Captains rank insignia on her arm.
HAWKINS
Ive been meaning to talk to you anyway, John, about
The two walk off, talking. Warren looks around the bridge, and heads off, picking up his duffel as he goes, putting it over his shoulder. Taylor sees him go, and follows.
CORRIDOR
Warren is heading for the MagLev entrance, as Taylor jogs up to him.
TAYLOR
Not much for goodbyes, huh?
Warren turns.
WARREN
Theres no need. Its only a drydock handover.
Taylor looks around for anyone listening.
TAYLOR
Mike, about before
CLARK
Captain!
Warren and Taylor turn. Mike Clark is walking up the corridor towards them.
CLARK
Sir, I hope youre not forgetting our little get-together tomorrow night.
Warren smiles.
WARREN
Absolutely not, Mike. My room, 1800?
Clark nods.
CLARK
Ill let the others know.
He turns and hurries off back down the corridor. Warren turns back to Taylor, but before he can continue his conversation, his PAL goes off. Warren sighs, and activates it.
WARREN
Warren here.
PARKER
(over PAL)
Sir, you have an eyes-only message from Secretary General McGath.
Warren looks around.
WARREN
Ill take it in my quarters.
He starts off, then turns back to Taylor.
WARREN
Ill see you in a little while.
They kiss, briefly, then Warren hurries down the corridor.
STAMP
(O.C.)
So
Taylor whirls around to see Stamp, a smile on his face, walking over to her.
STAMP
I take it you told him.
Taylor smiles, in sharp contrast to the pain in her eyes.
TAYLOR
Well, just about. He told me, actually.
Stamps smile grows wider.
STAMP
Thats great, Trish. And I see things went well, then?
Taylor sighs, and the smile fades. She looks back down the corridor towards where Warren left.
TAYLOR
I dont know. I think so. Its just
Stamp, too, loses his smile.
STAMP
What?
TAYLOR
(sighing)
I dont know. Every time weve tried to talk about it, something gets in the way.
Stamp looks slightly embarrassed.
STAMP
And I take it I was that something before?
TAYLOR
(reassuringly)
No, no. I dont blame you or anything, its just
(beat)
this was what I was afraid of. That things would change.
Stamp goes over, and puts his hand on her shoulder.
STAMP
Hey. Things may have changed between you, but hes still Mike. Hes still captain of a ship.
And that means that, sometimes, he may not have enough time for everything.
He looks her in the eye.
STAMP
Even you.
Taylor looks away from Stamp, back on the corridor.
WARRENS QUARTERS
Warren enters, puts the duffel down on the bed, and activates the com screen on the wall.
An image of McGath appears on it.
MCGATH
Captain.
Warren nods.
WARREN
Mr.Secretary.
MCGATH
Weve just received a very disturbing report, on something Id rather not discuss on an open frequency. Meet me at the Deep Fire conference room in 15 minutes.
WARREN
Aye, sir. Excalibur out.
The screen goes off. Warren picks the duffel back up, looks around the room one last time, then walks out.
EXT. PEARL HARBOUR - UEOHQ
We pan around the vast building for a moment, before slowly zooming towards a ventilation shaft set into the grounds. The camera passes through the grating and down the long shaft. We can hear voices, distorted by echoes, which become clearer as we descend. It becomes clear we are going quite deep underground, as the pipe grows darker, lit only by a diffuse glow at the end. Eventually, we emerge from the shaft to see
INT. DEEP FIRE - CONFERENCE ROOM
A lot like the Wardroom on the Excalibur, but this one leads down to a vast war room, where technicians hurry around, checking readings. Warren stands watching them from the conference room. Hes still in full uniform, but his demeanour suggests he wants this over with as quickly as possible.
As we pan around to Warrens front, McGath enters, accompanied by Bridger, Markov, and two other officers of Admiral (or equivalent) rank. A Commander, dressed in a black jumpsuit with a flame insignia, slides into the room, and goes to stand by the large video wall.
MCGATH
Captain.
Warren turns to see them, and then heads to sit at the table, McGath at its head. He carries with him a set of reports, and what looks like a CD in a caddy case, but about half as big.
MCGATH
(when all are seated)
Admirals, Captain to break this information down succinctly the ASB is active.
Warren turns, slightly shocked. The two admirals react, but Markov, Bridger and the Commander do not. Obviously, they already knew.
MCGATH
We received a distress call from a colony near the UEO/Macronesian border. Its an independent, so we usually have nothing to do with it. However, a UEO long-range hauler was docked there, on a routine cargo run. She sent the distress call, describing the attacking ship as nothing theyd ever seen before and giving a brief specification that matches the Axis Colony attacker.
At this, he nods at Warren.
MCGATH
They managed to send us a fraction of their visual log before we lost contact.
(to the Commander)
Commander?
The Commander takes the mini-CD caddy from McGath.
MARKOV
Captain, may I present Commander Alexandria Joseph, my first officer and chief engineer of the... of my ship.
Warren nods to her in greeting. Joseph returns the gesture, then continues back towards the video wall. She inserts the caddy into a side console, and inputs a command.
The images on the video wall (previously showing various news and information stations, either TV or InterNex) coalesce into a single image, from a camera mounted on the bow of the tanker, pointed aft.
JOSEPH
(clinical, precise, almost schoolteacher-like)
This is a standard cargo bay integrity camera mounted on the bow of the Aries DHV. It was pointed in the direction of the Macronesian border at the colony in question.
On the screen, a blurry image begins to emerge from the haze. (The distortion effect we recognise as that of the Archangels [from The Higher Cause]). As the distortion grows, the camera begins to suffer from interference. An audio signal now starts to filter through.
UEO OFFICER #1
(laced with static)
enormous size and power. Massive EMP output.
Warren turns to Bridger.
WARREN
Bridge log?
Bridger nods.
BRIDGER
They sent it along with the video. More of it survived, though.
We hear the log again.
UEO OFFICER #2
Incoming transmission
UEO OFFICER #1
Lets hear it.
Another voice cuts in on the channel, this one harsher and more in control.
ARCHANGEL OFFICER
This is the Archangel. Surrender your colony to the Macronesian Alliance, or you will be destroyed.
A silence hangs in the air, as the video image continues to degrade.
UEO OFFICER #2
Sir, the colony is sending a message to the enemy vessel.
UEO OFFICER #1
Can you identify?
UEO OFFICER #2
Negative. I Sir! The ship is firing torpedoes!
We can vaguely see streaks of torpedo fire leaving the Archangel. They strike the colony, and the camera wobbles.
UEO OFFICER #3
Were hit! Hull breach, cargo bay 3!
The camera descends into static, as the audio continues. We slowly pan down the table, watching each of the officers horrified face.
UEO OFFICER #1
Weaponry status?
UEO OFFICER #2
They destroyed our only laser, sir.
UEO OFFICER #1
Can we disengage?
UEO OFFICER #2
(a hint of panic)
No, were locked in tight!
UEO OFFICER #3
More incoming!
The first UEO officer remains calm (obviously the captain or senior officer), as we hear a series of explosions.
UEO OFFICER #1
Send out a distress call. Launch the log buoy. All hands to emergency launches, repeat
There is a huge explosion, which causes one of the admirals to jump slightly, then the audio is wiped out. Joseph hits a control, and the screen goes blank. All eyes turn to McGath.
MCGATH
(solemnly)
The UEO Ark Royal arrived at the colony a little over thirty minutes ago.
(beat)
The colony was completely destroyed, and the hauler with it. We found no trace of the log buoy, or any escape launches.
WARREN
(quietly, almost to himself)
No witnesses
McGath, however, hears.
MCGATH
Captain?
Warren looks up, sees all eyes are now on him.
WARREN
They didnt want any witnesses left behind. It perpetuates the myth.
MARKOV
Myth?
WARREN
(to Markov)
Of the Archangel. No one ever sees it and lives to tell the tale. No one can describe it, and no one knows where it comes from. It could be anything, anywhere. It creates fear and panic, which is what they want to achieve.
(to the others)
Of course, we dont really know any of these things anyway, so were just as clueless as everyone else is.
The female admiral leans forward, steepling her hands.
ADMIRAL #1
(to McGath)
So, Tom, what are we going to do?
McGath looks over at Bridger, who shakes his head, then back to the assemblage.
MCGATH
We have a plan in action, one that we cant go into much detail, even here. At the moment, we are tracking, or rather, attempting to track, the Archangels movements, to determine the location of its home base. When we go, well
He turns to Warren.
MCGATH
thats rather dependant on you, Captain.
Warren looks up.
WARREN
Sir?
MCGATH
The Excalibur is a key part of our plan.
Warren looks around at the assembled top brass.
WARREN
(slightly angry, maybe a little sarcastic)
The Excalibur is going to be in drydock for at least three weeks, sir. We sustained heavy damage in the Axis Colony incident, in some cases, close to irreparable. Itll take at least that time to get us up to minimum operating spec. Until then, were going nowhere.
(after a beat)
Sir.
Markov chuckles, and Bridger smiles. Even McGath smiles a bit.
MCGATH
Thats not a problem, Captain. The
(he looks at Markov and Bridger)
other part of our plan wont be ready for that long either. In fact
McGath rises.
MCGATH
we need your help on that part, Captain.
(to the other admirals)
If youll excuse us?
The admirals nod, and leave. Warren stands, and goes over to the others.
WARREN
Alright, whats wrong with the seaFire?
CUT TO EXT. PEARL CITY
The city glows in the pitch-black night.
INT. seaFire ENGINE ROOM
Warren climbs down a ladder, talking to Markov as he does. The seaFires Fusion Core rests in the centre of the room, dark at the moment.
(NB-there is a much more Star Trek-like look to the seaFire, its room designs similar to that of the Enterprise-E)
WARREN
so, youre telling me that you guys built the most advanced sub in the water, but didnt think to solve the earliest and most basic problem with it?
MARKOV
We thought we had!
Warren reaches the deck, and heads over to Bridger and Joseph, who are checking circuitry diagrams at the main diagnostic table. A small group of seaFire-jumpsuited technicians are removing panels and working in service conduits.
WARREN
The backwash problem in the aqua-return jets has been around since the first seaQuest was launched.
He looks at Bridger for confirmation, who nods.
WARREN
It was the first things Nathan, Lucas and I tried to resolve in the seaWolf design.
Joseph sniffs. Its obvious that shes taking this as a personal affront.
JOSEPH
Well, Captain, we thought the new turbine design would alleviate the problem, but it just seemed to amplify it.
Warren inspects the circuit diagrams strewn across the table, and picks one up.
WARREN
Junction 17-A
He stops at a panel, opens it. Checking the diagram, he takes out a Stanley knife from a tool pouch on his belt. He inspects a small tube filled with some sort of biogel, protecting a fibre optic cable, and starts to use the knife to open it.
Biogel literally explodes from the small tube, drenching Warren. As the blue gel drips from his face, he turns to Markov.
MARKOV
(trying not to burst out laughing)
I forgot. All the biogel conduits on the seaFire are pressurised.
Warren glares at him, then starts to laugh. Soon, the entire room is laughing. A technician hands Warren a towel, and he removes the biogel from his hair and face. Warrens PAL suddenly beeps. Still smiling, he activates it.
WARREN
Warren, go.
Barratts voice emerges from the PAL. His tone makes Warren sober up instantly.
BARRATT
Sir, I think youd better get over here. Right away.
A pause. The room falls silent, as they see Warrens concerned face.
BARRATT
Rick Parkers been shot.
Off Warren
FADE OUT:
END OF ACT ONE
ACT TWO
FADE IN:
EXT. PEARL CITY
Still night. We see a large, city hospital. A military Humvee pulls up.
PEARL CENTRAL HOSPITAL
Warren steps out of the Humvee, as Barratt walks down the main steps.
BARRATT
Sir.
Warren looks up, and sees Barratt.
WARREN
Where is he?
CUT TO INT. HOSPITAL
Warren and Barratt are walking down a hospital corridor (barely different to a contemporary hospital).
BARRATT
Apparently, Rick decided not to take shore leave with the rest of us, but took up temporary assignment as a guard on the Bachelor Officers Quarters. We dont quite know what happened, but one of the other guards came across Rick seconds after he had been attacked, and caught the attacker as he fled the scene. Hes at UEO Security now, under interrogation.
WARREN
Any idea why?
Barratt shakes his head. The two men turn a corner, and enter the critical care area. Taylor, Stamp and Smith are already there. Warren and Taylor share a look as they meet.
STAMP
I called Mike Clark. Hes on his way. Hes getting in touch with Ricks family, letting them know whats going on.
Warren nods. The five of them are facing a glass partition, behind which we can see Parker, his arm bandaged up to, and over, his shoulder. Hes unconscious. Jack Stratton emerges from a door to the room. The five look over to him.
WARREN
How is he, Doc?
Stratton sighs.
STRATTON
The doctors say it was touch and go, but they think therell be no lasting damage. He should be up and about tomorrow.
WARREN
How long will he be out?
STRATTON
Four weeks, at least, before the hard plaster cast comes off. After that, it could be up to another two months before hes back to 100%. Hes lucky he didnt seriously break any bones and that the bullet went clean through.
WARREN
A pistol?
Barratt nods.
BARRATT
An old-style Browning handgun. Silenced, of course.
WARREN
An assassination attempt? On who?
Barratt shakes his head.
BARRATT
We dont know. Maybe our friend over at UEO Security can tell us more.
Warren looks back over at Parker in his bed, then nods.
CUT TO EXT. UEO SECURITY HEADQUARTERS
A squat, single-storey building, from where we can see UEOHQ and the BOQ (Bachelor Officers Quarters) in the background.
INT. UEO SECURITY HQ - CELL CORRIDOR
We are looking in on a cell (via the usual strengthened window) at a man, aged about 30 yo. He is dressed in fairly casual clothes, and doesnt look like the sort of person who would go about shooting people. We pull back, to see Warren and Barratt looking in, with a UEO Security Captain standing beside them (his nametag reads Macias).
MACIAS
We got his ID. Names Joseph Martinson. Fairly inconspicuous. No gang or drug-related links, no major charges, only a few parking infractions for speeding and illegal parking.
WARREN
Fairly ordinary guy.
The Captain looks up from a PalmPC.
MACIAS
There was one blip, though. He emigrated to the UEO in 2027, claiming political asylum.
Warren and Barratt look back.
BARRATT
Most political refugees at that time came from
Warren looks back at the prisoner.
WARREN
Macronesia. When Bourne left the UEO.
He looks back over at Macias.
WARREN
A sleeper agent?
Macias nods.
MACIAS
Could be.
Warren and Barratt exchange looks, then walk out of the room, totally in step. Two men, with one thought.
UEO SECURITY HQ - PEARL CITY MONITORING STATION
Equivalent to a police control room. (Since Pearl City is primarily UEOHQ, UEO Security acts as the police force in the Capital Territory.) We see a large video wall, displaying surveillance footage from various locations. Warren and Barratt walk in, accompanied by Macias. They head over to an unoccupied control desk, and sit at it.
WARREN
Can you put up the surveillance cam footage from the BOQ?
Macias looks around to a technician, goes over, and whispers in their ear. The technician nods, and hurries out of the room.
MACIAS
Im having someone check the archives now.
The screen on the desk comes to life, and we see an image taken from outside the BOQ. Parker can clearly be seen at the guard post.
WARREN
Here we go...
The digital video runs. We see Parker reacting to something O.S., then walking out of the guard post. The image switches to outside the guard post, by the security barrier. We see Parker stopping the man from the cell, and talking to him. The man seems calm, and begins to walk away, as does Parker. As Parker turns, the man pulls out the gun. Parker whirls around, and tries to dive out of the way. We see the gun go off, and Parker twist in mid-air. Warren and Barratt visibly react to the sight. Half a dozen security men descend on the man.
WARREN
Stop!
The image freezes. Warren squints at a corner of the screen.
WARREN
Enhance section 4-A.
The upper left of the screen zooms in, to reveal the shadowy image of a second man, turning to run. Warren and Barratt share a look.
MACIAS
An accomplice
BARRATT
Another sleeper.
WARREN
Or just someone unfortunate enough to be on the scene.
Warren turns back to Macias.
WARREN
Can we peel the image, get a face out of it?
Macias gets a few technicians together.
MACIAS
Well try.
Hes about to leave, when he turns back.
MACIAS
Well need access to Lt. Parkers quarters, sir. Just to see if theres another angle to this.
WARREN
(not paying attention)
Sure. Ill clear it with the drydock.
Macias and the techs leave. Barratt turns to Warren.
BARRATT
If theres a cell in operation
Warren turns. He hadnt considered that.
CUT TO EXT. PEARL CENTRAL HOSPITAL
As before, now glistening in the pre-dawn light.
INT. HOSPITAL - CORRIDOR
Warren sits on a chair, out in the corridor from the critical care section. Taylor walks towards him, carrying a cup.
TAYLOR
(sitting next to him)
Here.
She hands the cup to Warren, who takes it, smiling.
WARREN
Thanks.
He takes a sip. Its clear from his reaction that hospital coffee hasnt changed much in 40 years.
TAYLOR
(concerned)
Did you get any sleep?
Warren shakes his head, the caffeine getting to work.
WARREN
No. We were up all night, trying to peel back the image we found. Got back here about half four.
He looks over at her.
WARREN
How about you?
Taylor shrugs.
TAYLOR
A few hours. I promised Kate Hargrove and Jackie Macey wed go shopping.
Warren smiles.
TAYLOR
What?
Warren shakes his head.
WARREN
Nothing. Its just I didnt think of you as a shopping person.
TAYLOR
Really? My credit card bill says otherwise.
Warren smiles again, and Taylor does too. Warren puts the cup down on a nearby table.
WARREN
So you wanted to talk?
Taylor nods.
WARREN
(after a moments silence)
Well go ahead.
Taylor sighs, and is about to start, when
BARRATT
Captain!
Barratt is hurrying down the corridor towards them. Warren stands, as does Taylor.
BARRATT
Captain Macias just called me. Weve got a break on the ID of that second sleeper. Name, address, everything. Hes assembling a TAC squad now.
WARREN
Is it inside Security jurisdiction?
Barratt shows him a map on the PalmPC he is carrying, a red dot can be seen, just inside a shaded area.
BARRATT
Just.
Warren turns to Taylor.
WARREN
Let the others know whats happening. Tell them, if they want to help, meet us at the corner of 7th and Lake in 10 minutes.
Taylor nods. Barratt hurries away, but Warren lags behind for a moment.
WARREN
Well get a chance to talk later, Trish.
He puts his hand on hers.
WARREN
I promise. Now, enjoy your shopping.
Taylor smiles, as Warren hurries off. Once he is out of sight, however, the smile fades, and she slumps back down into the chair.
CUT TO EXT. PEARL CITY
A quiet, suburban street. Its a white picket fence type of place. Suddenly, three UEO Humvees screech into view, and come to a halt at a corner. Seconds later, a civilian car pulls up, carrying Stamp, Smith and Clark. Warren, Barratt and Macias get out of the lead Humvee and head over to the others.
WARREN
Head to the rear Humvee. Its got body armour and weapons for you.
The three men nod. Once they are out of earshot, Barratt looks over at Warren.
BARRATT
Body armour didnt help Rick last night.
Warren shoots him a look.
WARREN
If hed been shot in the chest, it might have.
The three Excalibur crewmen return, fully kitted out.
MACIAS
Ready?
The five others nod. Macias calls out to the other Humvees, and a dozen TAC troops emerge from them, armed and dangerous.
MACIAS
Okay, well lead the assault. You follow in behind us. Keep an eye out for booby traps.
Stamp looks around.
STAMP
Kind of an unlikely place for a Macronesian agent.
WARREN
Thats the point.
They head off.
EXT. PEARL CITY SUBURBS
The assault team closes on a house, fanning out across the garden. A group head for the rear of the house, while Warren, Macias and the others go for the front.
They wait. After a moment
MACIAS
(shouting)
Now!
The door is smashed in, and the troops pour through the wrecked doorway. They split up, checking every room. We see the troops from the back of the house meeting up, and hurrying up the stairs. We follow Warren and the others as they find room after room deserted.
SECURITY #1
(upstairs)
Clear!
SECURITY #2
(O.C.)
Clear!
Another security officer runs in.
SECURITY #3
Empty, sir. No sign of them.
MACIAS
Damn!
Warren looks around, and catches sight of a small, black box. His eyes widen.
WARREN
Bomb!
Macias and the others look up, then react.
MACIAS
Evac!
They run out of the building, the TAC troops right behind them. As they clear the garden, the house EXPLODES!
Off the fireball
FADE OUT:
END OF ACT TWO
ACT THREE
FADE IN:
EXT. PEARL CITY
The picture resembles a news report. We see jittery camera angles, as the camera follows a fire truck careering down the street towards what was the house from Act Two. Ambulance and Security personnel are everywhere. The injured (amongst them UEO Security men, as well as civilians) are helped into waiting ambulances. We cut to a reporter dictating a piece to camera.
NEWS REPORTER
no clue has yet been revealed as to the cause of the explosion. UEO Security Captain Jose Macias was at the scene within minutes, but no official statement has been
(to his cameraman)
wait a minute is that Captain Warren?
We see Warren is emerging from the crowd. The reporter hurries over to him, as does the cameraman.
REPORTER
Captain Warren? What is your involvement here?
Warren looks up at him. Hes covered in dust and soot.
WARREN
Secretary General McGath sent me the moment we heard of the incident, to organise and assist UEO Security teams with the clean-up. Luckily, there were no casualties. There'll be a full press release in a few hours. If youll excuse me
He walks out of the way. We pull back from the picture, to see it displayed on a TV. We pull out to see we are in
INT. STARBUCKS, PEARL CITY
It looks just like the Starbucks we know and love (well, perhaps not love, but). We see a wide variety of patronage, from civilians to UEO personnel. We pan across the room to see Taylor, Hargrove and Macey sitting in a booth, drinking and watching the news report.
Hargrove turns to the others.
HARGROVE
Well, at least we know what the others are doing with their last day of shore leave.
They smile.
MACEY
Do you think it has to do with Rick Parker?
HARGROVE
Absolutely.
She looks around.
HARGROVE
Well, shall we go?
They start out of the booth, Hargrove leaving behind some money.
EXT. PEARL CITY, MAIN STREET
They step out of Starbucks, and onto Main Street. Think Londons Oxford Street, but pedestrianized. Every major retailer can be found here, from Woolworths to Bloomingdales. And its busy. Oh boy, is it busy. Hundreds of people walk along the street. The three women start walking, and we quickly lose sight of them in the crush.
EXT. PEARL CITY, SUBURBS
The TAC squad are scouring through the debris of the house, as Warren, Macias, Barratt and Stamp look on. The external structure of the house remains, although vast holes have been blown out of the exterior walls. A TAC squad member walks up to Stamp with a PalmPC, and he leaves the group to inspect it.
MACIAS
$100,000 of damage, and not a clue.
Warren looks around.
WARREN
Neighbours say anything?
Macias shakes his head.
MACIAS
Didnt even suspect.
BARRATT
Someone must have tipped them off.
Warren turns to look at him.
WARREN
An inside man?
Barratt nods.
BARRATT
If theyve been here for thirteen years without being uncovered, there could be one of them anywhere. Even inside UEO Security.
Macias looks around. It could be construed as nervousness, but it disappears immediately.
MACIAS
But, wouldnt we have flagged their Macronesian origin?
WARREN
Not before 2030, when the Alliance started getting aggressive. If, like Martinson, theyve been here since the late 2020s, we wouldnt have noted it.
Stamp walks into the conversation.
STAMP
Sir.
Warren turns to him. Stamp hands him the PalmPC.
STAMP
Nothing. If there was anything in there, theres nothing left. The explosive literally destroyed everything bar the external structure.
WARREN
Thanks, Dave.
He turns to Macias.
WARREN
With all respect, Captain, Id prefer that a minimum of people know about this investigation from hereon in.
Macias nods in understanding.
MACIAS
No problem.
He turns away, to help in the clean up. Warren turns to Barratt, Stamp and the others.
WARREN
Head back, get cleaned up. Ill be with you soon.
They nod, and head for the civilian car the other three arrived in. They get in, and drive off. Warren begins to look through the debris.
EXT. PEARL CITY
We watch as a 2040 Land Rover equivalent pulls to a stop along a road. We pull away from it, to see Taylor, Hargrove and Macey emerging from a shop, laden with bags.
HARGROVE
(carrying the most of all of them)
Six hours to do three months worth of shopping just isnt enough time.
MACEY
Absolutely.
We see the driver of the Land Rover watch the three of them cross the road through his mirror. He then puts the car back into gear, and moves off.
CUT TO EXT. UEO SECURITY HQ
As before.
INT. UEO SECURITY HQ - MONITORING STATION
Warren sits at a console, watching the same footage over and over again. Hes staring at the screen, barely blinking in case he misses something. Hes covered the desk in various personnel and Security dossiers. There is a cup of coffee slowly cooling by his elbow. We pull up slightly to see Stamp approaching.
STAMP
You stare at that too long, youll go blind.
Warren doesnt move.
WARREN
It might help.
He sighs, and leans back from the console.
WARREN
I dont know, Dave. It seems every time we eliminate a problem, three more pop up in its place.
(he points at the screen)
Were still no closer to finding this guy, or any further clues. The house we raided is completely destroyed, and McGath is having kittens over the explosion.
STAMP
Did you give him a good cover story for it?
WARREN
Gas line rupture. Best I could come up with in the time.
He leans forward again.
WARREN
(to the screen)
Who are you?
Suddenly, inspiration hits. Warren turns to Stamp.
WARREN
Dave, are all the Excaliburs systems down while in drydock?
Stamp shakes his head.
STAMP
Only whats down for repair.
Warren hits a control on the console, and a slim CD caddy emerges from a slot. He hands it to Stamp.
WARREN
Use the Excaliburs Graphical Array to enhance this.
STAMP
(puzzled)
I thought Macias had already done that. Thats how we got the location before.
Warren looks around, making sure no one is in earshot.
WARREN
(lowering his voice)
Yes, it is. But I dont trust anyone here at Security.
(beat)
Even Macias.
Stamp nods, understanding. He takes the caddy, and hurries out of the room. Macias enters the room as Stamp leaves.
MACIAS
(to Warren)
Found anything?
Warren turns.
WARREN
(cautious)
Just a hunch.
He turns back to the console, checking some of the files on it.
CUT TO EXT. EXCALIBUR DRYDOCK
The ship is now covered with construction gantries, and we can see people working on the hull.
INT. AUX CON
Stamp is in Auxiliary Control, which is essentially a smaller version of the bridge. We can see technicians and drydock personnel working on damage in the corridor outside. Stamp is at a console at the side, which cannot be seen from the door. The video footage is playing on the small screen.
STAMP
Computer, pause.
It freezes at the point we saw back in Act Two, showing the other sleeper agent.
STAMP
Enlarge section 4-A and enhance.
The picture zooms in on the second face, and the image becomes less blurred.
STAMP
Computer, is there sufficient information to extrapolate a match?
COMPUTER VOICE
Negative. Insufficient data.
STAMP
Damn. Tie into Graphical Array, and begin image correlation.
After a moment of tense waiting
COMPUTER VOICE
Link established. Correlation will require one hour for complete processing.
Stamp leans back in his chair.
STAMP
I'm not going anywhere.
EXT. PEARL CITY
Back at Main Street. We pan across the crowds, until we spot Taylor and the others leaving a store. We zoom in on them, as they head back down the street, towards the road they crossed earlier.
TAYLOR
Im telling you, its not
They come to a halt as they reach the crossing. They start to cross, but, about halfway over, the Land Rover we saw before comes barrelling towards them.
MACEY
Look out!
She pushes the others out of the way, and dives to the other side. The car catches her as it flies past, and Macey twists in mid-air, landing heavily on her right leg. The car doesnt stop, as Taylor and Hargrove pick themselves up, and hurry over.
TAYLOR
Are you OK?
Maceys face is twisted in agony.
Hargrove looks around, to see where the car went.
HARGROVE
(to an onlooker)
Get an ambulance.
The onlooker hesitates. Hargrove draws her stungun.
HARGROVE
NOW!
He hurries away, as Hargrove gets out her PAL.
HARGROVE
Security alert, Main Street
EXT. PEARL CITY
The Land Rover barrels down the road, and turns into an alleyway.
HARGROVE
officer down.
The Land Rover comes to a halt. and we see a butterfly tattoo on the arm of the driver, but not his face, as he looks back down the alley, then the car drives off.
Off the empty alley, and the distant wail of sirens
FADE OUT:
END OF ACT THREE
ACT FOUR
FADE IN:
EXT. PEARL CITY
Were back at the hospital again.
INT. PEARL CENTRAL HOSPITAL
Warren hurries down the corridor with Clark.
WARREN
Dammit, not again
They reach the critical care unit (again) and see Taylor and Hargrove being treated. Warren and Taylor share a look. Both Taylor and Hargrove are cut and bruised.
WARREN
(to Taylor)
Are you OK?
Taylor nods, unable to speak.
HARGROVE
We didnt see who it was, sir. It all happened so fast.
TAYLOR
She got us out of the way, before trying to dive clear
We can see tears starting to fall.
TAYLOR
She she shouldnt have.
Warren goes over, and puts his arms around her. Clark and Hargrove share a look.
WARREN
(stepping back)
Its OK. Youre OK, Jackies OK. Dont worry.
HARGROVE
Sir
Warren turns.
HARGROVE
Does this have anything to do with what happened to Rick Parker?
Warren looks around, then nods once.
HARGROVE
But why now? Why Excalibur personnel?
CLARK
Its a message from the Alliance. No ones safe.
Barratt enters, with Smith.
BARRATT
(re: Macey)
How is she?
Hargrove stands up off the bed.
HARGROVE
Minor leg fracture. A few cuts and bruises. Shell be fine, but not for a few weeks.
BARRATT
(looking over at Warren)
Thats two key officers targeted and eliminated by this sleeper cell.
Warrens PAL goes off. He activates it.
WARREN
Warren, go.
Stamps voice emerges.
STAMP
Sir is this a secure line?
That puts them all on alert. Warren inputs something into the PAL.
WARREN
It is now. What is it, Dave?
STAMP
(slightly agitated)
You should get over here. Now.
(beat)
Youre not going to like it.
Warren looks up at Barratt, who nods.
WARREN
(into PAL)
Were on our way. Warren out.
He switches the PAL off, then turns to the others.
WARREN
Dan, you and Mike stay here. Get a security detachment from the Excalibur crew here.
CLARK
Why not UEO Security, sir?
WARREN
(cautiously)
Excalibur personnel only, Lieutenant.
Clark looks confused, but nods.
CLARK
Aye, sir.
Warren and Barratt leave the room.
CUT TO EXT. EXCALIBUR
Establishing.
INT. DOCKING COMPLEX
Warren and Barratt run down the docking tunnel into the Excalibur. We see a very confused Captain Hawkins approaching from the Excalibur.
HAWKINS
Captain John what the hells going on?
Warren comes to a halt.
WARREN
No time to explain, Jackie. Can you evacuate your personnel from the Excalibur immediately?
Hawkins nods, then activates her PAL.
HAWKINS
This is Captain Hawkins. All dock personnel evacuate the Excalibur. You have
Warren holds up three fingers.
HAWKINS
three minutes. This is not a drill. All personnel, evacuate.
She heads away, not acknowledging the two Excalibur men, who carry on down the corridor.
WARREN
(re: Hawkins)
I dont think she liked that.
BARRATT
Why evacuate them?
WARREN
Its too much of a risk. Besides, if the person is who I think it is, we wont have long before they know.
They enter the MagLev.
MAGLEV
Barratt and Warren head for the emergency exit in the MagLev carriage, and open it.
WARREN
Computer, Turbine Maintenance.
As they exit the carriage, it starts to move off.
MAGLEV TUNNEL
As the two men hurry down the tunnel, the carriage starts off in the other direction.
BARRATT
If they check where the MagLev went
Warren nods.
WARREN
Itll send them in the wrong direction.
BARRATT
Youre sure theyll come here?
WARREN
If it is who I think it is, theyll have no choice. One way or another, this ends here.
We see resolve in Warrens eyes, as they reach another carriage, and enter it via the same emergency exit.
CORRIDOR
Warren and Barratt exit the MagLev, and go into a room opposite. We see the location designator Armoury.
CUT TO AUX CON
Stamp is waiting, armed with a pulse rifle. Warren and Barratt enter, likewise equipped.
STAMP
Sir, its good to see you.
Warren unslings the rifle from across his back.
WARREN
Did the dock personnel leave?
Stamp nods.
STAMP
All of them.
Warren sighs, and heads over to the console.
WARREN
What did you find?
Stamp sits at the console, and brings up the still image from the BOQ. He zooms in on the second face, which is enhanced drastically. The face is very familiar.
WARREN
(smiling, but without mirth)
I knew
Barratt, however, is shocked.
BARRATT
Macias? But hes Head of UEO Security here.
Warren smirks.
WARREN
But, like Martinson, he came here from Macronesia in the 2020s. And, as he said, no one would have noted his origin, even for such a key post. We need everyone we can find. Everyone who wants to be on our side, that is.
Suddenly, the lights and screens go out, and the room darkens.
STAMP
What the
Warren activates the light on the barrel of his rifle.
WARREN
Hes here.
STAMP
What the hell has he done to my ship?
We hear clanking noises, and the ship rocks slightly.
CUT TO INT. HOSPITAL
Smith and Clark hurry over to the window, leaving behind a dozing Hargrove, and a dozen Excalibur security men. We take our POV behind them, as we see the Excalibur pulling away from drydock. The two men share a horrified look, then hurry out of the room.
EXT. PEARL HARBOUR BAY
The Excalibur tears apart the construction gantries attached to her, as she powers out into open water.
INT. AUX CON
Warren, Barratt and Stamp all react to the sound of the engines.
STAMP
Damn fool. The reactors shot to hell. Hell blow the ship apart!
BARRATT
(shouting over the engines whine)
I think thats his plan!
CUT TO EXT. PEARL HARBOUR BAY
Now in open water, the Excalibur leaves Pearl City behind.
INT. CORRIDOR
Shadowy and echoing in the eerie darkness. Beams of light cut through, as Warren, Stamp and Barratt edge down the corridor. The whine of the engines has abated slightly.
STAMP
(sotto)
Where do you think hell be?
WARREN
(sotto)
My guess is Engineering. He can control the whole ship from there.
They carry on.
INT. ENGINEERING
Like the corridor, unfamiliar, and filled with shadows. The glow of the fusion core illuminates most of the room, throwing it into relief. The edges of the room remain in shadow, however.
Warren, Stamp and Barratt enter the room, but are forced back by a pulse bolt. They duck back around the door.
BARRATT
So much for the covert approach.
CUT TO EXT. PEARL HARBOUR
We see a high-speed shuttle being readied. A small group of people hurry towards it.
EXT. SHUTTLE
Its Clark, Smith and Taylor, with some security personnel. They go over to the Lieutenant in charge of the shuttle.
SMITH
(holding out his ID)
Lt.Cmdr Smith. Im requisitioning this shuttle. Orders of Secretary General McGath.
LIEUTENANT
Im sorry, sir, but this ship isnt going
But Smith and the others are already past him, entering the shuttle.
LIEUTENANT
Hey! You cant do this!
Smith looks out from the shuttles viewport.
SMITH
Just tell them I hit you.
The shuttle powers up, and pulls away at high speed.
CUT TO INT. ENGINEERING
There is an exchange of fire taking place. Warren, Stamp and Barratt are pinned down by fire from the catwalk above.
WARREN
(shouting up)
Come on, Macias! Whats this going to accomplish!
Another pulse bolt strikes the console they are sheltering behind.
MACIAS
(O.S.)
Your ship will be destroyed, Captain, and with it, the last hope the UEO has against my people!
Warren fires back. The fusion core begins to pulse ominously.
STAMP
Sir, the core! Hes ramping it up to maximum! If it goes over 250
WARREN
...itll go supercritical.
Stamp nods.
STAMP
And take half of Hawaii with us.
Warren and Barratt renew firing.
WARREN
(to Stamp)
Get to the shutdown controls! Well cover you!
Stamp heads around the other side of the console, towards another on the far side of the room, staying low the whole time, as pulse fire ricochets around the room.
STAMP
(to Warren)
Try not to hit the core!
WARREN
Im trying!
A console explodes in front of Stamp, who rolls out of the way.
COMPUTER VOICE
Warning. Fusion core critical level will be exceeded in 1 minute.
Warren and Barratt begin to edge toward the catwalk, but are stopped by another pulse burst coming from somewhere else.
MACIAS
(O.S.)
You remember Mr. Martinson, Captain?
WARREN
How could I forget?
(beat)
But why attack my crew, Macias? What do Parker and Macey have to do with getting my ship?
MACIAS
(genuinely)
Macey, Captain? I didnt attack her. Parker was necessary, so I could get you involved, Captain, and get access to your ship. I didnt need to hurt anyone else.
A pause.
MACIAS
(laughing)
Looks like you have another enemy, Captain.
Warren is about to dive across a gap, when a fierce hail of pulse bolts stops him.
COMPUTER VOICE
Warning. Fusion core critical level will be exceeded in 30 seconds.
Warren tries again to reason with Macias.
WARREN
Youre wasting your time, Macias. Even if you destroy the Excalibur, there are other ships!
MACIAS
Like the seaFire, Captain?
Warren freezes. Barratt looks over at him, puzzled.
CUT TO EXT. EXCALIBUR
The sub is moving steadily along. The high-speed shuttle closes on it, and fires torpedoes, tearing open the hydrosphere doors.
INT. ENGINEERING
The ship rocks, violently.
WARREN
Whos firing at us?
He turns, to see Barratt smiling.
WARREN
What?
BARRATT
Cavalrys here.
Warren realises, and smiles. Suddenly, the entire fusion core shuts down, and the room begins to brighten.
MARTINSON
No!
He sees Stamp at the fusion shutdown controls, and takes aim. Warren opens fire, and Martinson is hit. He falls from the catwalk, and lands with a sickening crunch on the engine room floor.
WARREN
Its over, Macias! Give it up!
We hear a rifle discharge, see the pulse rifle fall to the ground, and then Macias falling after it.
Warren and Barratt run over to him. His eyes are lifeless, a smoking hole in the centre of his chest. Hes dead.
WARREN
Dammit.
Behind him, we can hear footsteps. Warren, Barratt and Stamp all ready their rifles, as Smith and the others burst in.
SMITH
Captain?
Warren lowers his rifle.
WARREN
Its alright, Commander.
He looks back at the body of Macias.
WARREN
Its over.
Barratt looks at Warren.
BARRATT
For now.
We change to an overhead POV, as the group enter the engine room, and Warren and Barratt stand.
Off Macias body

END OF ACT FOUR
ACT FIVE
FADE IN:
EXT. EXCALIBUR
Back in drydock, the damaged hydrosphere doors under extensive repair. We can also see the damage the dock itself took in the Excaliburs departure.
WARREN
(V.O.)
Captain Log, supplementary entry, April 27th, 17:30.
With the assistance of several UEO tug craft, the Excalibur has been towed back to drydock.
CUT TO INT. UEO SECURITY HQ
Several security personnel are being escorted away.
WARREN
(V.O.)
Captain Macias personal files revealed several other members of UEO Security that were Macronesian sleepers. It seems hed spent the last five years putting his people where he wanted them, in preparation for some sort of major operation, one that was only vaguely alluded to.
CUT TO EXT. BACHELOR OFFICERS QUARTERS
Early evening. The UEO flag flutters in the breeze.
WARREN
(V.O.)
We dont know if we have all of them rounded up. Were going to have a problem with sabotage for a while, but the interim head of UEO Security has informed me that theyre taking every precaution.
INT. WARRENS TEMPORARY QUARTERS
Warren is sitting at a desk, finishing the entry. Hes dressed in civilian clothes.
WARREN
Still, its worrying that someone could get that deep into our power structure, and
There is a knock at the door. Warren looks up from the computer, hits a control.
COMPUTER VOICE
Recording paused.
Warren gets up, and heads to the door.
WARREN
Who is it?
The voice is muffled.
VOICE
Pizza!
Warren looks concerned, and gets his stungun out.
WARREN
I didnt order pizza
He quickly opens the door, and points his gun straight at Clark, who raises his hands.
CLARK
Hey, dont shoot, Cap!
Warren relaxes, and lowers the gun.
WARREN
Christ, Mike, you scared me half to death!
Clark smiles, sheepishly, and walks in, followed by Stamp and Smith. Theyre all dressed casually.
WARREN
Come on in, Dave, Dan. The others should be here any minute.
He goes over to the computer.
WARREN
Store entry at this point, and close log.
The computer beeps, as Stamp looks around.
STAMP
Not exactly five-star, is it?
Warren raises an eyebrow.
WARREN
Youre staying on the Excalibur.
Stamp smiles.
STAMP
Point to you.
Another knock, and Barratt, Taylor, Hargrove and Scaros enter. Warren smiles at Taylor as she enters.
CLARK
So, Cap, where are you taking us?
Warrens smile widens.
WARREN
Trust me, youll love it. I stumbled across it while I was stationed here during the construction of seaWolf. Its a little-known bar where UEO people go to relax.
Stamp turns.
STAMP
Were going to Charlies?
Warren whirls.
WARREN
Of course! Where else?
Stamp smiles.
STAMP
Well, lets get going!
Warren holds out his hand.
WARREN
Hold your horses, Dave. Were still waiting for one more person.
Everyone looks puzzled, but that changes to curiosity, as another knock is heard at the door.
WARREN
Ah, here they are now.
He opens the door, and Parker walks in, his arm in a plaster cast. Hes a bit white, but cheery. The others exchange delighted grins.
BARRATT
Nice to have you back, Rick!
PARKER
(a little weak)
Nice to be back, sir.
Warren claps his hands together.
WARREN
Well, now that were all here
(beat)
shall we go?
They start out of the room.
(The following lines overlap, as they all talk over each other)
CLARK
I'm not dancing.
HARGROVE
Well, we'll just see...
SCAROS
I don't think I want to see that...
WARREN
You'll find out when we get there.
STAMP
Believe me, you'll love this place...
CUT TO EXT. PEARL CITY
Night time. We zoom in on the waterfront area, away from the UEO docks, to focus on a bar on the very edge of the water.
EXT. CHARLIES
Its quite an understated bar. A small illuminated sign reads Charlies.
INT. CHARLIES
The interior is very different. Its very busy, and the place is filled with UEO and Naval memorabilia. We pan across one wall, to see signed pictures of the original seaQuest crew, pieces of debris from famous shipwrecks, including a Titanic lifebelt. Models of ship rest in glass cases, one of which is the Excalibur. We pull back from this model, to see Warren looking at it. Beside him is Charlie (who else?), who fits the perfect ideal of the bartender, mid-40s, balding, with a jolly face. Warren turns to him.
WARREN
When did you put this in, Charlie?
CHARLIE
About a week after you went missing.
(mischievously)
I was hoping for a piece of the wreck.
Warren smiles.
WARREN
Youll have a long wait yet, my friend.
Charlie smiles, and heads over to another table. Warren walks over to a table on the balcony, overlooking the water. We can see the Excalibur in drydock ahead of us. The others are seated, eating their meals. We can see Parker is having some difficulty.
WARREN
(to Parker)
You OK there, Rick?
Parker looks up, mumbles through a mouthful of food.
PARKER
(muffled)
Fine, sir. Just have to get used to the cast.
Stamp looks down the table.
STAMP
Youre the one who picked the bolognese, Rick.
They laugh. Warren picks up his glass.
WARREN
Ladies and gentlemen, Id like to propose a toast.
They get their glasses ready. Warren holds the glass out to the distant Excalibur.
WARREN
To the Excalibur.
(beat)
Long may she stay off Charlies wall.
CHARLIE
(O.S.)
I heard that!
They laugh.
WARREN
Cheers.
ALL
Cheers!
Warren looks over at him, and sits back down.
BARRATT
I meant to ask you, Mike What did Macias mean, when he said the seaFire?
Warren stops.
WARREN
(hesitantly)
I cant talk about it.
(beat, laughing)
I thought we werent going to talk business tonight? You agreed, John.
Barratt smiles and nods.
BARRATT
Yeah, I did.
We hear music start to play. Clark and Hargrove get up to dance. Barratt and Smith go over to talk to another group in the bar. Parker excuses himself. Scaros goes over to a group of people who are wearing seaHawk uniforms. Taylor, Warren and Stamp remain at the table.
STAMP
(looking at the other two)
Well I think Ill go catch up with Charlie.
He gets up, and leaves the two of them alone.
WARREN
So
Taylor smiles.
TAYLOR
So
WARREN I should... |  : |  : | TAYLOR I think |
They both stop.
WARREN
You go first.
Taylor sighs. Its clear from her demeanour that she wants to get something off her chest.
TAYLOR
Im confused.
Warren blinks in surprise.
WARREN
About what?
TAYLOR
About us. I dont know where we stand with each other. I dont even know if this is right, but
Warren goes around the table to her, and puts his arm around her.
WARREN
Hey.
She smiles, but theres a sadness in her eyes.
WARREN
Im at the same place. But all I know is if we take this one day at a time, one step at a time we wont have to worry about all that. Yet.
He smiles. We hear The Sundays "Wild Horses start. Warren turns to look at Taylor.
WARREN
Would you care to dance, Miss Taylor?
She smiles, and we see all the troubles fade.
TAYLOR
Why not?
They get up, and, hand in hand, go over to the dance floor. As they dance, we see Clark and Hargrove still dancing, while Stamp, Barratt and Smith stand by the bar, smiling.
WARREN
(still dancing)
Happy now?
Taylor nods.
TAYLOR
More than Ive been for a while.
They smile.
WARREN
Dont worry about tomorrow, Trish. It comes soon enough.
We pull slowly up from them, overhead.
FADE CUT TO EXT. PEARL CITY
At peace. We see the Excalibur, lit by gantries. We lift up, again, to the clear night sky overhead.
WARREN
It comes soon enough
SHARP CUT TO EXT. OCEAN
We see a UEO ship being torn apart by the mysterious Archangel. It looms over us, and fires a bright green laser burst that fills the screen and
BLACKOUT.
