Sailor here.
I was so proud of my Mom today; she graduated from beginner obedience class this morning! She did a great job, heeled right by my side, stood there while I sat, while I downed and while I stood. She left me and called me in just the right tone of voice to get me running to her and didn't flinch at my front-sit thingie. And she kept the treats coming! I am so proud of her. We even got a certificate saying how great Mom was, but they goofed. Instead of putting Sailor's Mom on the certificate, they just put Sailor. Mom says she can change that very easily, not to worry. Who worries?
Speaking of worrying, things are getting a little tense here on the home front, though. Mom's daughter, my sister (after all, we are all redheads, so must be from the same family), is getting married to Zoe's dad next weekend in our very own backyard. Mom and I have been doing a LOT of gardening. My new dog run keeps Mom up at night, though, because she has to order pea gravel and Zoe-proof the perimeter and figure out on shade and shelter and shoveling, and oh my. She wakes up in the middle of the night and makes lists. What is this?
A month ago, Mom finally found a Mother Of The Bride Dress and took it to the cleaners last week to have it pressed. They lost it. Yup. Gone. But Mom says that first of all, they WILL find it in time and second of all, this is not the worst thing to happen. After all, it could have been my sister's dress! But last night at about 3:30 AM, Mom was rummaging around in the back of her closet for a backup dress. I thought it would be easier to rummage for a front up dress since her closet is very long, but she had her mind made up.. Mom finally went back to bed mumbling something about losing a few pounds to fit into the backup one. I hope she doesn't decide I need to lose a few pounds, too!
Zoe and I are having baths right before the wedding. I get to go to the groomer's where they love me and feed me cookies. Zoe gets to go with Mom to the DogWash and help Mom get clean, too. They both come home pretty wet and beat up. I, on the other paw, come home dry and absolutely gorgeous. I think I have the better deal. Zoe will be staying with us while her dad and my sis are on their honeymoon -- yippee! I love those opportunities to play spithead and get her in trouble!
