This morning, Mom got up late today despite all my coaxing and whining. She says that since the wedding is over, the work week is over, and Zoe and I were up playing Spithead at two in the morning, she is jolly well going to sleep in! Just as I was settling down for a nap, groaning and moaning to get my point across, Josie the Calico Cat whom we are baby sitting while the honeymooners eat honey or moon or whatever they do, where was I? Oh, yeah, Josie snuck into Mom's room, tiptoed right past me, and leaped into the bathtub to thwap a ping pong ball. Mom got up. Do you think that if I jump into the tub tomorrow morning, she will get up right away? Maybe she will give me ice cubes and I can play nose hockey with them. I love nose hockey with ice cubes!
We all had walkies, poopies, breakfast, and then Mom put me outside and took Zoe in the car. Zoe came back all floofy and smelling funny -- she said she went to the Do-it-yourself DogWash and was there a LOOONG time. She missed her pre-wedding bath because Mom ran out of time so she got a post-wedding bath instead. Zoe said she got cookies from the Pet Food Express person who she loves and all but dew-clawed her nose at me. Hmmmmph. Mom pointed out that when I went to the groomer's last week, I got cookies, but what good does that do me now? Mom says she'll take us out into the driveway after lunch (her lunch, mind you; I haven't gotten lunch since I was a puppy) and do obedience with Zoe and give us Red Barn. Yummy! But first she has to dry her sleeves and her knees.
After Driveway Obedience, we came inside and Zoe was a rug. Amazing how she can run all day but a little obedience and a bath will wipe her out. I, on the other paw, come home well rested from the groomer, but Mom says on obedience class days, I, too, am a rug. I think I will go practice being a rug because when Zoe wakes up, she will want to play Chase and Growly Spithead and I have to be on my toes to outsmart her.
