!!! UPDATE April 5 2005!!!

!!! TENTATIVE SCHEDULE !!!

Sri Thyagaraja Music Festival is held in rotation between three northwestern cities, Corvallis-Oregon, Portland-Oregon, Seattle-Washington.

This year Seattle will host the Northwest ‘Sri Thyagaraja Music Festival’ following the tradition of previous years. This festival is in homage to the great musician, saint, and composer Sri Thyagaraja, and other great composers who have contributed to the development of Carnatic Music. As in previous years, we expect to receive overwhelming response for the music festival. The festival will be held during the hours of 7.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. and the program will commence with the traditional group singing of Pancharatna Kritis followed by group singing of children, and adults. Due to the large number of participants expected, we encourage group singing of children, and adults whenever possible.

The event open to all music lovers, is an all-day music festival starting with the puja, followed by singing of Thyagaraja pancharatna kritis, individual, and group participants. This event focuses on the participation of young upcoming children as well as adults. The festival is mainly funded by volunteer donations and sponsors contributions. Sponsorship for this program is very welcome. Event sponsors will be recognized in the “events brochure”, and other public service announcements. Please consider this event as your community event and contribute generously.

We will need volunteers, donation of time, money and in-kind services. We appreciate your cooperation in completing and mailing the response sheet . Please make copies and circulate amongst your friends and other music lovers. Please click here for directions to the Venue. MSN MAP
