Update on the Sri Thyagaraja Music Festival, 4/16/2005

 

We are looking forward to your attending the music festival. The preparations are well under way, and with your cooperation, volunteering, and financial help we will have a grand success of the program. For those of you who have not received the notification of the festival, and for those who have not sent in their response forms, we enclose an attachment, which has the details of the festival and the response sheet. Pl. e-mail us back with your response sheet and generous contribution to defray expenses and fund ongoing lecture-demonstration programs for the rest of the year. For those of you who have already submitted their response forms and mailed in your generous donations, please ignore this note.

 

We have received overwhelming response for participating at the festival.

  • All registrations for participation are now closed.
  • We have space in the church for small kids and juniors in the lower level. We have junior adult volunteers who will take care of the kids when parents wish to attend the program.
  • For those attending from out of town, and who need overnight hosting please let us know now, so we can get hosts for them. Last minute arrangements cannot be made for hosting.
  • For those who are in business, we solicit your business advertisements for our brochure. We expect an attendance of 600-800 people and we will publish a brochure for the event for distribution at the festival. The brochure will have articles, information on the participants with a list of donors and contributors for the program. In order to publish the names of the donors before print date we suggest that checks be given instead of cash so that their names will not be missed.
  • We need volunteers in the following areas:

Audio help to manage the audio system. We will need four (4) people to handle the audio during the day.

Stage Management: Help for set up and other stage help.

Decorations: Help on the previous day from 4.00 pm to 10.00 pm for the entire period or part of it.

Publicity brochures: Help for preparing nice graphics for display at different venues and at businesses. We need help in preparing directional and other signs.

      Boxing: Help in boxing food during the following hours: 8.00-10.00 am and                      

      10.00 to 12.00 noon. Pl. choose the period you would like to help.

      Cleaning: Help during the day and after the festival is over. Please choose one.

      Hosting: Help from Seattle Metro area residents for hosting out of town guests.

 

  • Contributions and donations: We need your financial help to defray expenses.  Please contribute generously. It is good to keep the northwest tradition, which started in 1990 and attended by many music lovers from British Columbia, Oregon and Washington.
