X5-452 was shot through the right
ventricle by her X7 clone the night of the lab explosion. She arrived to the operating
room DOA. After six minutes of CPR and two attempts to jumpstart her heart, the
director gave the order to prep her body for harvest.
X5-493 was
tracked to Seattle, Washington. An autopsy report from one of the soldier's victims
revealed his location to be in a nearby fertilizer storage facility. A convoy tracked
down 493 and recovered his body. The soldier had died of a recently snapped
neck; whether 493 killed himself or had help is uncertain. He was thought to be an
anomaly because he had ritualistically killed several people: two in Chicago, two in
Washington, three in New York, and four in Miami.
X5-559 was
captured the night of the lab explosion when an X7 shot him through the left
shoulder. Upon seeing X5-452 about to be prepped for harvest, he broke free of his
restraints, commandeered a gun from one of the guards, took the director hostage,
and demanded 452 be transplanted. Upon being told there were no hearts to
transplant her with, 599 shot himself in the head in order to give her his heart.
X5-656 was tracked to Portland, Oregon, with the help of information
gained from 599. She evaded capture, but later returned when her husband posted
a missing person's advertisement for her. Colonel Lydecker took point on her child,
who showed signs of accelerated motor control, heightened spatial recognition,
and advanced logical thinking. Colonel Lydecker had been infecting the child with
nanotechnology. He agreed to cure her child if 656 turned herself in. After the
transfer, someone issued an order to capture the child as well. In the aftermath of
this failed abduction, 656 escaped. She was later found, dead, inside a research
facility set up inside of a converted silo and guarded by Manticore special ops
soldiers. 656 had been kept in a tank and subjected to some kind of
experimentation. The reason for this is unknown as well as who authorized the
experimentation.
X5-734 was apprehended on a bench a few
miles away from Fort Xavier, a military base owned and operated by Major Jake
Sanders. This soldier was the fourth X5 to develop a form of Progeria. Her defective
genes were repaired once she was returned to Manticore and reprogrammed. She
was last seen heading towards the DNA lab on the night of the explosion.
The X5 known as "Jace" was assigned to assassinate Dr. Adrianna
Vertes. Dr. Vertes contacted Colonel Lydecker, informing him that "Jace" was AWAL
because she was pregnant and that one of the rouge X5 was with her. The Colonel
instructed "Jace" to apprehend the rouge. She disobeyed orders by first leaving her
post and then breaking communications. She and X5-452 escaped on a
motorcycle.
