| Jam Pony is the bike
messenger service where Max works. Jam Pony's messengers are paid by the run;
they have to get a signature from the person they make a delivery to or pick up from
to get paid for that run. Jam Pony itself is housed in what looks like a rundown
warehouse. There's graffiti everywhere and overall Jam Pony looks like a place
where squatters might live.
Normal runs Jam Pony. He's uptight, rude, and
bossy. Every day he barks at everyone to do their jobs and quit goofing off, so no
one is particularly happy at Jam Pony. The pay is lousy and Normal is a pain, but
the people are okay and being a |
messenger allows everyone to do their own thing.
Because everyone spends most of the day on their own, the gang spends a lot of
time hanging out at Crash and B.S-ing about their day. |

|
| Crash is a bar where
Max and her crew go to hang out. It's main feature is a giant screen that shows
crash scenes from car races, motocross races, and more. Crash also features
amateur talent. Every once in a while people that are pretty good at bicycle tricks get
on the bar with their bike and perform. A lot of interesting things happen at Crash:
Original Cindy's ex showed up, the Reds chased Max out of the bar, Original Cindy
spotted a potential |
girlfriend, Max found her next potential heat victim, and Herbal
introduced the gang to his friend Snuffy, who had been Herbal's cell mate when he
did a stint in prison. |
|
|
| During the day Max and
her crew sometimes take a break at the bike ramps; there's always someone
doing tricks and showing off their skills. Sometimes people just lounge on the
ramps and tan. The bike ramps is also where Sketchy and O.C. meet Chrisette.
Sketchy showed off to get Chrisette's attention, which would get him in trouble and
expose the darker side of Post Pulse Seattle. |
| South Market is where
Max goes for just about everything. Before being captured by Manticore and having
her seizures taken care of, she went to South Market to buy Tryptophan, pills that
helped her deal with the seizures. Max also fenced items she stole through a
contact at South Market. Besides being a sort of Black Market, South Market is an
actual market and also has a bus station. |

| Before the Pulse,
Terminal City used to be a chemical district. After the Pulse, there was a huge
chemical spill but there wasn't enough money to clean it up so the city fenced off
the area. Because of the toxic chemicals, most people can't stand to be in the area
for very long. The only people who go to Terminal City are those with nothing left to
loose. Transgenics go there because they're immune to the biological agents and
they know people won't bother them since most
|
of them never
venture into the area. Shortly after Joshua moves to Terminal City, Max stages a
trade there (see Family Reunions page on Sam). The transgenics and
transhumans that were currently at Terminal City backed her up and the place
changed from being just a transgenic and transhuman safe haven to a functioning
city, with a population made up of Manticore creations, a Freak Nation.
