Kim Bax responds to Dianne Reilly MP on the 25th January 2004 - explaining her request in more detail, and says she is still looking for answers:- (TOP)
Dear Kellie,
Thankyou for your email of 25th January 2004.
I am co-ordinating a State-wide campaign (Queensland), for the installation of seatbelts on school buses - and I'm seeking feedback from ALL members of the State Parliament in regard to this issue. I assume that Mudgeeraba is in the State of Queensland and that members of your electorate use school buses? I therefore look forward to receiving a response to my initial inquiry.
Thanking you in anticipation.
All the best - Kim Bax (TOP)
On the 2nd February 2004, Dianne Reilly MP sends Kim Bax another email - however, it still side-steps direct answers to the actual questions that have been asked:- (TOP)

Kim Bax writes back to Dianne Reilly MP on the 3rd February 2004 - pointing out that she's avoided the questions, and asking for direct answers:- (TOP)
Thankyou Dianne (or rather Kellie), for your email to me of the 2nd February 2004. However, NOWHERE within your reply can I find any answer to - or acknowledgement of - the questions I actually asked. For your information, and as a reminder, I've reproduced them for you. There were three of them:-
These are very important points - in fact, these questions are FAR too important to be "dodged." Your electorate deserves a coherent response - in other words, a response that acknowledges that these VERY SPECIFIC questions exist.
Perhaps, in your next email, you might find it useful to number each point (e.g. 1, 2 and 3). In that manner, you would be assured of addressing (and acknowledging), them
I look to hearing from you again in the near future.
Regards, Kim Bax (Mrs.) (TOP)

From Kim Bax - Mum & School bus seatbelt campaigner, Beaudesert Shire
Dear Dianne,
8 weeks ago on the 3rd February 2004, I sent you some correspondence in relation to seatbelting children on school buses (in response to your email to me of 2nd February 2004). For your convenience, your email to me of 2nd February 2004 can be directly accessed via this link:-

4 weeks later, on the 2nd March 2004, I had had no reply from you - so I sent a reminder, which can be accessed via this link:-

Now, 8 weeks after my email of 3rd February 2004 - and 4 weeks after my reminder of 2nd March 2004 - I have still not received a response from you. Dianne, we are dealing with an extremely important issue here, children's lives. I believe the public are very weary of politicians avoiding direct questions - and to be honest, I believe your electorate deserves a great deal better from you on this. To underline the seriousness of the problem, here's a link to an article in the Australian Medical Association News (Queensland), concerning a hypothetical school bus accident. It is written by those we pay - and expect - to know about road trauma, doctors. I warn you though, it is a very graphic piece:-

I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

PPS - I will continue to send reminders to you at 4 weekly intervals over the coming 3 year term, until my questions of 22nd January 2004 are directly addressed (not an unreasonable expectation).
