The goal of Weaselpalooza I.V. is to raise money in support of The Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund (Charitable Registration No.119861854) through ticket sales, raffle draws, corporate donations and a spectacular silent auction. The Trust Fund is a non-profit charitable organization whose sole purpose is to help fund music therapy initiatives nationally. Music therapists utilize the power of music to help children and adults with special needs, be they mental, physical, or psychological.

There are a limited number of tickets available, so make sure you get yours in advance. We're aiming to raise over $30,000 this year and we can't do it without your help. This money is targeted to go toward setting up music therapy projects in Newfoundland, as well as helping to establish the new music therapy clinic opening on Bloor Street in Toronto in the New Year.

This year Weaselpalooza I.V. will feature a d.j. spinning the tunes upstairs, a cigar lounge, a variety of performance artists, and complimentary hors d'oeuvres. As well there will be fantastic door prizes drawn hourly, and of course the fantastic silent auction prize table. Last year the Silent Auction packages included The Ultimate Beatles Package, Leafs Package, Tragically Hip Package, and an amazing trip to the Roots Lodge. This Silent Auction is definitely not to be missed!

Since 1996, with the help of volunteers from the Music Industry, the fund has provided support for over 90 projects to the tune of $900,000. These projects range from hospices for terminally ill persons with cancer or AIDS, centres for the aged, schools for children who are autistic, physically or mentally challenged, and programs for street kids. It has also funded projects for women in prison, children who have been sexually abused, teens who are suicidal and people who are isolated due to psychiatric problems. Artists such as Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Mel C, Brian Eno and Luciano Pavarotti endorse music therapy. The Canadian music industry is leading the way with their initiative and enthusiasm to raise awareness and funds.
