A program that helps you create ships with the CT: High Guard rules. |

This program does just about everything for you. It allows you to quickly generate characters (under your complete control), worlds, starships (using Book 2 rules), animal encounters, NPC encounters, and patron encounters. It has a complete list of all of the equipment in the LBB's (including ships), an extensive Library Data, and all of the skills in Classic Traveller (including notes on how to adjudicate these skills in game). Basically, it does everything except GM the game for you. If you play Classic Traveller download this program. |
This is a mapping program that has extensive files for any genre. If you've tried Campaign Cartographer, and Map Creator, and they've left you feeling like a retarded monkey (as they did me when I tried them) this is the program for you. Ninety percent of its functions are marginally more complex that the Paint program that comes with Windows, it also has more complex functions that allow it to do almost anything that Campaign Cartographer will do. |
Autorealm comes with a file of Traveller deckplan symbols! What more could you ask for?!?! |
Most of these are links to other sites. Do you know of a link or program that should be here? If so PLEASE let me know. I would like to build a complete library of all the best software for Classic Traveller and Gurps Traveller referees. |
An excellent program that will not only work for Gurps Traveller, but for any Gurps modern or space campaign. |
A good and simple program that will not only work for Gurps Traveller, but for any Gurps campaign. |
I've spent a lot of time thinking about one of the few weaknesses that Traveller has. And that is how "generic" the worlds seem to be. One of the hallmarks of a great Traveller referee is the ability to make each and every system, or at least main world, just a little different that the others. That's what makes Travelling worthwhile. Now the UWP is a great thing for rapidly creating worlds, and it gives you a good starting point, but it does need some more input from the referee. The Freelance Traveller website has several essays on this. I personally don't want to get into as much detail as some of those works suggest. I want a few notes to help me make each world a little different, not a whole new set of characteristics to roll up for each world. If the players are Travelling across the subsector to get to the other side do you really want to create a huge file on every gas station along the way? Anyway, here are some of my random thoughts on some aspects of the UWP. |
Random Thoughts |
During the creation of my Weapons and Armor charts for Gurps Traveller 4E (see my GEAR page) I realized that I needed a Hit Location Chart that I'd be happy with. One with all of the injury info on it, since I'm too cheap to buy the 4E Referee's screen. Then I happened upon this pic, and I made the first Hit Location Chart, then several people asked me to make others. One person even asked me to make a Barney Hit Location Chart. Remember Barney? The big Purple Dinosaur of Annoyance? I'd forgotten all about him (and was happier for it). Since I've made them I might as well post them here too. |
GURPS 4th Edition STUFF! |
Looks like an Ultra-Tech Vacc-Suit w/o helmet to me! |
Yeah, I know. I couldn't find a decent Orc or Barbarian pic though. |
Remember the Instant Characters booklet for 3rd edition? I made this one for 4th edition. |
The official Gurps character generation program. More importantly it's a great program. |
An unofficial Gurps character creation program. It works great, and it's free! |
