Opening of School Year 1996-1997, Mrs. Herminia A. Tiu, Principal II of Agusan del Sur National High School, designated Mrs. Rachel M. Blanco as Teacher-In-Charge with her teaching staff, Mrs. Noemi Joneth C. Mangadlao, Mr. Anselmo A. Gavino, Mr. Jonathan I. Dumdum, Mr. Marionito L. Cervantes, Mrs. Jasmin S. Tampepe, Mrs. Alma Tolentino and Mr. Virgilio Directo Jr.

As a newly opened school and extension of Agusan Sur National High School, it should undergo ocular inspection by the Regional Representative. First classes were done in the barangay office but due to the increasing population, classes were transferred to Mr. Mario Villar�s solar drier, then finally classes were done in the Municipal Gymnasium with another set of barangay officials Hon. Felix Sablas and his councilmen continued to extend their support morally and financially.

The scheduled ocular inspection made them decide to put up temporary building at the back of the Barangay Hall worth P 80,000.00. The Barangay Officials willingly turned over the responsibility to the Municipal Officials during the time of Hon. Mayor Antonio B. Maturan. They gave assistance for the honorarium of the teachers and the non-teaching. They also gave the school site 800 meters away from the highway. The area of 3 hectares was donated by the Municipal Government.

The establishment of Prosperidad National High School was approved on June 8, 1998 and it was legislated by virtue of Republic Act 8898 and signed on August 22, 2000 by the President of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Joseph Ejercito Estrada.


Regional Memorandum No. 79 s. 1998, the reshuffling of the Secondary Administrators was implemented. Mrs. Rachel M. Blanco was transferred to Los Arcos National High School and Mrs. Adelina B. Magsigay took her post in Prosperidad National High School. In the year 2001, Mrs. Rachel M. Blanco was assigned again as the TIC of Prosperidad National High School and promoted as Principal of Prosperidad National High School year 2004.

In the year 2008, it became one of the implementing units of the Sixty One (61) Secondary School in the Division of Agusan del Sur.
