| Family: Plectorhynchidae Scientific name: Spilotichthys pictus (Thunberg) Local name: Kaci Distribution: Shallow coastal waters to about 80m depth Size commonly caught: 30-45cm total length Notes: The young fish have numerous distinct and stripes on the head and sides, becoming spots in adults. Adults are blue grey in colour and sometimes with faint yellow spots on the head. Sold fresh as well as dried-salted. |
